Zayn Gets A Nose Bleed - X Reader

I giggled as I watched the boys play volleyball in the pool, tossing, setting, and spiking the ball around, laughing, cheering, and taunting one another. I sat in the shallow end, wading around, swimming in my back then and there, the boys would accidentally hit the ball in my direction and I would toss it back.

My eyes landed on the boy who had stolen my heart and didn't have any intentions of giving it back or giving it away. Zayn sat on the side of the pool, topless, in his swim shorts, with his legs in the water. The lad couldn't swim and he was too scared to learn.

Swimming over, I rested my arms on his legs and leaned my chin down. Zayn looked down at me with a small, shy smile. We'd only started dating about a month ago, but kept it mainly secret. The boys constantly teased us, even when we were just friends, Zayn and I were very cuddly with one another. On top of that, Zayn always referred to me as "Angel" instead of my real name.

"Why don't you come into the shallow end with me?" I asked, playfully pouting my lip at him and giving my best puppy eyes. Zayn chuckled and blushed, shaking his head fondly. "You know I can't swim," He said, tucking my damp hair out of my face. "But you can wade around with me! You can stand in the water while I swim around you!" I said, making Zayn glance at the water wearily. "I can teach you how to swim!" I add, making Zayn smile again.

My secret lover sighed. "You're going to be the death of me, aren't you?" He asked, faking exasperation. I giggled and raised my brows. "Is that a yes?" I asked, making him sigh again, this time dramatically before he nodded his head reluctantly. "Yes!" I fist bumped the air as I let go of Zayn, watching him get off the ledge and walk over to the ladder to the shallow end.

I swam after him and met him there, watching as he very slowly and very hesitantly climbed down the ladder. The water went up to his hips and he stood up straight. I wrapped my arms around him and he chuckled, looking over his shoulder at me. I started to let my body float and kicked off the wall, making Zayn come with me.

Zayn yelped and squirmed and he almost went underwater, but since I was on a swim team and was fairly strong, I held him tight. When Zayn realized he wasn't drowning and that he was floating with his head on my shoulder and his back to my chest, he relaxed.

"See? Not so bad," I say, feeling Zayn wrap his arms around mine and ease. "Not so bad," He admitted softly, making me grin. He looked up at the sky, watching the clouds. The sun was covered by them, but it was still a bright day.

Our peace ended when all of a sudden, the volleyball came flying over and hit Zayn right in the face. All the boys let out loud 'Ooh's, as Zayn squirmed and almost went under again. I quickly guided him to the ledge of the shallow end and I immediately saw the red liquid oozing down Zayn's face and as it dropped down into the chlorine, my shocked brain finally registered what had just happened. "Shit!" Zayn gasped, also taking notice of the situation, cupping a hand over his nose and wading to the ladder, me in tow.

"Zayn! Are you alright?!" Liam called, shocked. "I'm sorry!" Niall spluttered, following us, the boys behind him. I immediately took the towel that I brought in my bag and put it to Zayn's nose. My secret lover winced at this but quickly took over, holding the towel to his nose. "Pinch your nostrils and tilt your head back," I say softly, helping him do so. Zayn whined but did as told.

The boys finally got out from the deep end and ran to check on their band mate. Niall was stuttering and gasping out apology after apology. He was the one who spiked the ball that hit Zayn square in the nose. Harry kind of hid behind Louis, being squeamish and not wanting to see the blood. Just the thought of it makes him feel queasy. Liam was rubbing Zayn's back and asking if he needed him to either get Paul, a first aid kit, or another towel; basically, he was going full mom mode.
