Will it be okay? • Atsushi x Akutagawa

Chapter two

Simple corridors.
Narrators POV

Atsushi follows Akutagawa inside.

They both walk through the gloomy looking corridor.

There wasn't much in it. Only lights, walls and the floor. It was plain and eery looking.

They walked a while in silence, until the hole that Akutagawa previously made to get into this bunker-type place, was less visible, and it looked like just a big dot of light.

They were quiet between each other, all that could be heard was the rustling of their clothes, breathing and the steps they were making.

Atsushi wondered if Akutagawa was thinking about anything.

Akutagawa wondered how he could get away from Atsushi without getting into trouble with Dazai.

But suddenly,

They spotted two guards walking their way, most likely to switch positions with the ones that were previously standing outside of the once guarded doors.

"HALT." One of the soldiers shouted as they both held their guns towards Atsushi and Akutagawa.

Akutagawa immediately used his Rashomon to leap towards the guards, but Atsushi beat him to it and he slashed the guards first.

A splat of one of the guard's blood went onto Atsushi's shirt.

"HEY. I had them." Akutagawa growled with slight anger.

He was angry that Atsushi was quicker than him, even though this was meant to be teamwork, it was as if there was a competition silently rising up between them..

"Sheesh, we are meant to work together! You can't just do everything. Dazai-san told us to work together!" Atsushi shouted back.

Silence fell over them, before Atsushi spoke again.

"You know what, should give you a stupid nickname."

"As if." Akutagawa gave him a short and cold answer

Atsushi sighed deeply

He kind of wanted to see Akutagawa smile, he's never seen him happy before, or even a bit positive.

"Hey Akutagawa." Atsushi started

"What, man-tiger." Akutagawa turned to him.

"What if Fyodor really isn't here? I mean it's only a theory the port mafia made.." Atsushi wondered out loud.

"Do you seriously doubt the boss of the port mafia?" He said in slight disbelief but also disappointment "Dazai-san too?" He added

"I mean there's barely any guards here!" Atsushi added "and no cameras in sight either!"

"Don't let your guard down, man tiger." Akutagawa spoke seriously and with slight authority.

Seeing how gloomy Akutagawa was, Atsushi decided he'd make a silly face.

He quickly jogged in front of Akutagawa, and he blew a raspberry.

He waited for some kind of reaction from Akutagawa, but he stayed monotone like always. No reaction whatsoever from him.

He raised his eyebrow, seeing how pathetically emotionless Akutagawa's response to that was.

Atsushi was about to say something, to try get Akutagawa a bit more positive-looking.

But suddenly, Atsushi shouted

"HOLY!!!" His voice went high pitched like a little girls would.

Akutagawa caught the frightened man-tiger as he jumped up in shock.

"What is it?" Akutagawa was already on guard, he was already thinking how to strike the enemy using Rashomon.

But actually.. it was just a rat running by their feet..?

"Did you actually.." Akutagawa didn't even end his sentence, that's how done he was with Atsushi.

"A rat.." Atsushi let out the loudest breath out ever.

But then both of the boys realised, Akutagawa was holding Atsushi in the 'bridal hold'.

"I-ehh.." Atsushi started awkwardly.

It was awkward to both of them as they are rivals..

And well.. the only touch they ever have isn't gentle like a bridal carry like this, it's normally punches and kicks and stuff...

"S-sorry!!" Atsushi immediately apologised once they both got a hold of themselves.

Akutagawa then just dropped Atsushi straight onto the ground.

"Oww..." Atsushi rubbed his butt as it was in pain from the fall onto the concrete floor.

"You're pathetic." Akutagawa said before continuing to walk forwards. "Just from a rat.." he muttered to himself in disappointment

But in reality, it added to Akutagawa's pride, knowing that his rival is scared of mere rats.

Yet he was slightly blushing for some reason..

"Let's just continue, man-tiger." He said while facing away from Atsushi.

He was blushing... like he could feel the heat on his face.

Was it simply embarrassment, or more?

But from his voice, Atsushi thought he may be embarrassed about what happened.. as it did sound like Akutagawa may be a bit embarrassed.
