Within the realm of sleep, Melodi felt light as a feather. She felt as if she could leap to-and-fro without becoming tired. In fact, it almost seemed like she could fly.

As she padded from an expanse of dark, soft colors unfolded in front of her paws. Each step she took created more color in the landscape.

It faded from black to turquoise, and the color above her swirled into a gentle lavender. Yellow creeped at the horizon and provided a soft, golden hue on the teal grass.

Melodi stared in wonder each step she took. She noticed that the grass and sky both had small swirls, like small wisps of clouds. Is this a dream? It's weird, nothing is happening.

"Shadow," said a voice. Melodi pricked her ears. She looked around for the voice, only to see nobody in sight.

All of a sudden, the vivid landscape shifted into a waterfall of colors, and then formed a whirlpool that dragged Melodi underneath into an entire different world. It was mountainous, with bright green grass and blue skies. Fluffy white clouds raced above.

In front of her, pools multiplied. However, as Melodi walked closer, she saw that it wasn't water, but holes in the grass. The holes showed reflections of what looked like different landscapes.

Against her own will, she started to get dragged to a pool that had a reflection of the sky. What the krabby! What's happening?!

She attempted to skid her paws to a halt but no matter how hard she tried, the pool wouldn't let her go. Until she fell into . . .

     The sky.

Now she was falling, falling, and falling, through clouds. It reminded her of when she escaped the Advisor and thought she was reaching certain doom.

It won't happen, though. This is only a dream! She thought.

      . . . Right?

      THUD!

Melodi hit the ground. She shakily got to her paws and realized she felt no pain. She smiled and looked all around her. Now she was in a region she didn't recognize. There was golden grass and a clear, blue sky. Weird blobs of dead brown grass tumbled around the ground in the wind. The sun glittered insanely bright and Melodi had to squint her eyes. What... or who she saw next surprised her. A silver pelt standing on the edge of a hill.

Boomer?! Melodi thought. WHY AM I DREAMING ABOUT BOOMER?

Boomer turned to look at her. Astonishment sprawled all across his face. He yelped, and he tried to run away, but he slipped and fell off the cliff.
