The silver eevee danced in small circles at the shore of a river

The silver eevee danced in small circles at the shore of a river. She hummed to herself a quiet song; one that she
often heard other pokemon sing when they're bored.

She swayed gracefully like a bellossom, and then leapt into the air, twirling with her eyes closed. When she landed on the ground, her paws made no sound at all. She smiled proudly at herself. She'd been practicing this every day: dancing. It was one of her favorite things to do after she finished her daily sparring with her brothers.

In the corner of her eye, she noticed some butterfree and tried to leap at them, a wide smile on her face. She landed on the back of one close to her and he let out a yelp.

"Hey! You can't just jump on random pokemon!" he said.

The eevee sighed. "You're no fun!" she replied, hopping off the butterfree. They all fluttered away.

"Melodi, what are you doing?" asked a raspy voice. The silver eevee, Melodi, turned to see her brother, Puddle. He was an eevee, too, but his fur was a fluffy cream-ish brown. He had dark chocolate eyes, dark spots laying under them. He yawned and did a little stretch.

Melodi shrugged. "My daily dancing."

Puddle slowly blinked. "Mhm, and how's that goin' for you?"

Melodi didn't know how to answer that.

And she didn't have to.

"Melodi, Puddle, what are you doing so close to the river?" asked a monotone voice.

Melodi smiled. "Father!" she exclaimed, rushing to the tall, bristle-furred jolteon and nuzzling his leg fur. The jolteon was so tall her had to bend down just to lick the top of her head.

"Hello, snowdrop," he whispered. That was his little nickname for Melodi. It started ever since Melodi fell in a random patch of snowdrop flowers, laughing her tiny eevee head off. Melodi smiled at the memory, then smiled even bigger at her father.

Melodi heard Puddle scoff behind her. "You're such a daddy's girl," he said. A yawn followed. "Anywho, I'mma go take a nap. See ya later."

Melodi glared at him and puffed out her cheeks. She lashed her tail left and right. Am not!

"Apologize to your sister, Puddle!" Barked Father, rushing to his son and picking him up by the tail. Puddle flailed in the air like a magikarp, trying to touch the ground.

"Okay, okay!" Puddle was gently dropped onto the ground. He turned to Melodi. "I'm sorry. . ." he leaned closer to her, a grin growing on his face, and added, "that you're the favorite child."

Melodi rolled her eyes, batting Puddle in the snout. "That doesn't even make sense!"

He giggled, then started to hop away. Father obviously assumed he apologized, because he didn't even bother chasing him. Or maybe it was because Father suddenly just looked completely out of it.
