Trevor and Aria moved together through the labyrinth, their footsteps echoing in the stillness. With each passing moment, the atmosphere thickened, shadows shifting in the corners of his vision.
"Tell me more about the mirror," Trevor urged, trying to gather as much information as possible. "How does it work?"
"It amplifies desires," Aria explained, glancing around as if the shadows were listening. "But it also reveals the darkest parts of oneself. Those who seek power often lose themselves in the process."
"Like Nyx," Trevor murmured, heart heavy with dread. "She wanted to change everything."
Aria stopped abruptly, looking Trevor in the eye. "You have to be strong. If she's become entwined with the mirror, she may not even recognize her own darkness."
"Then I have to reach her before it's too late," Trevor replied, steeling himself. They pressed on, determined to uncover Nyx's whereabouts.
Finally, they arrived at a large chamber, its walls adorned with twisted imagery of past victims—their faces contorted in agony and fear. At the center was another mirror, pulsating with a dark energy.
"This must be it," Trevor whispered, dread settling in his gut.
"Careful," Aria warned. "The mirror may try to manipulate you."
Trevor stepped closer, the darkness swirling around him, and he felt a familiar tug. He squinted, trying to see past the distorted reflections. Was that Nyx?
"Nyx!" he called out, heart racing. The reflection flickered, but there was no answer.
"Stay focused," Aria urged, pulling him back. "We need to find a way to enter without losing ourselves."
As they strategized, Trevor felt the weight of the task ahead. He had to confront the darkness, not just for Nyx and Mia, but for himself.
