It's crazy how this happened:
Genesis 1:26 NKJV
"Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;"
Then this happened:
Genesis 3:4-5 NKJV
Then the serpent said to the woman, "For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God.
God already made us in His likeness;
like Him.
But Satan insinuated (lied) that that wasn't so. Eve doubted God, believed Satan, and thus where we are now.
It's crazy how the first inspiration for sin was an attack to our Identity as Human beings. 😂
And the first attack was to the Mind.
The Mind is the most powerful tool in the world.
And Satan knows that too.
Just look at the aftereffects>
Genesis 3:8-11 NKJV
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, " Where are you?"
The all knowing God is asking "where are you?" No condemnation, no nothing. He's seeking them out .
Genesis 3:10-11 NKJV
So he (Adam) said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself."
And He said, "Who told you that you were naked?
Y'know, I think it's very important that we know Who God is if we're really interested in understanding the Bible (His Word). If we don't we can never understand His actions, and it'll be like just another story to us.
So, back there, Adam's own guilt is what condemns him and makes him afraid of God.
God seeks him out, but he is afraid. And that fear (of failure, what others think, not getting that job, not getting that guy or girl, not getting that grade, fear of not being loved, fear of being alone, fear, fear, fear!) has distorted his perception of God and Life at large.
"Lies believed break the circle of Love and Trust."
Where there is no love there is no trust, and where there is no trust there is Fear.
Fear impairs our ability to think and reason clearly.
Love is the lifeforce of Life (The Word/Jesus). That Life is the Light that lights up the life of every man.
By lying to Eve, distorting our perception of our identity, and breaking the circle of love and trust between humans and God, Satan successfully disarmed and condemned us to Death.
But Love is always a step ahead,
...even amidst our fear. 💟
