Faye stumbled as she landed on the other side, her feet sinking into the soft, red grass of Wonderland. The air was heavy, thick with the scent of roses, but there was something wrong about the place. The sky above was fractured, as if someone had torn apart the fabric of reality, leaving jagged purple scars that bled into the clouds. The trees swayed unnaturally, their branches twisting and curling in ways that defied the wind.
Briar appeared beside her, steadying herself as she looked around, her eyes wide with apprehension.
"Wonderland," Briar said softly, her voice trembling. "It's worse than I imagined."
The landscape was eerie, unsettling. Everything felt off-kilter, as though the world itself was teetering on the edge of madness. The path ahead was lined with giant mushrooms, their caps glowing faintly in the dim light, and the trees seemed to whisper to each other, their voices carrying on the wind.
"We need to find Alice," Faye said, trying to keep her voice steady. "She's the only one who can help us get out of here."
Briar hesitated. "If she's still... sane."
The words sent a shiver down Faye's spine. Wonderland's madness was infamous, and if Alice had been trapped here for as long as the stories suggested, there was no telling what state she'd be in.
Together, they began to walk down the twisted path, their footsteps soft on the red grass. Every step felt heavy, the atmosphere pressing down on them, suffocating in its strangeness. The landscape shifted as they moved, the path winding in impossible directions—sometimes looping back on itself, sometimes splitting into multiple trails before merging again.
Time felt slippery here, the air thick with unreality. Faye found herself growing disoriented, the world around her flickering like a broken dream. It was getting harder to keep her focus, harder to remember why they were even here.
