I was never approached by bandits inside a city in Eorzea. Perhaps that was because cities there were smaller than Tulsa, or perhaps because I could carry my weapons there. I encountered thugs harassing others in Ul'dah, but only during my Gladiator training; I sometimes wondered if they were hired by the guild for me to deal with.

But Tulsa, it seems, is big enough to not have guards everywhere. While Husband and I were exploring we found an area without guards, and there were bandits there. They did not look like bandits at first, but simply people standing around, leaning against walls or sitting at building entryways. Such people never bothered us in Eorzea, but it seems they would bother us in Tulsa.

One man pushed himself from a wall as we were walking and stepped in front of Husband. "Hey, man...got any spare change?"

"Uh...no, sorry."

The man drew a gun from behind his back. "Well, then, gimme your wallet. Now!"

I heard movement behind us. A man we had passed who had been sitting on some steps had stood up and also held a gun.

Husband and I glanced at each other. We both switched to Paladin, and stood back to back, each of us raising a shield to one of the bandits.

"Wha...?"

We shieldbashed them. They flew backwards and tumbled, their guns flying. We collected the men and their guns and brought them to a lamppost. Husband brought his zipties from inventory. He still insists he got them to use in the workshop, but this was the third time he has used them on people.

We fastened the men together around the lamppost, and ziptied each man's gun around his throat through the trigger guard. We stepped back to inspect our work.

"Should we leave a note, Husband? Like Spiderman?"

"What, like, 'Complements of your friendly neighborhood Warriors of Lignt'?"

We looked at each other for a long moment. It was very, very tempting.

"Just stealth and keep an eye on them, my love. I'll go see if I can find a cop."

He ran around a corner. I shifted to Ninja and stealthed. It was not long before two guards came and saw the bandits. Husband was behind them, but shifted and stealthed as well. We waited to see that the guards had the situation in hand before slipping down an alley and Returning home.

If this is going to happen often, I think I will need to learn to craft zipties.
