Chapter 15: Library Date

Sofia's POV

It's been a week since the recital and flying derby, the homework is getting more by the week and I have so much to catch up on. I'm arranging my books in my locker after the last class of the day one of the books falls off. I bend to take it, "Princess, I believe this is yours?" the person asks. "Yes... thank you!" I grab the book from him and I look up, it's Hugo! "Hi, there!" I close my locker.

Hugo grabs my waist as my hands are full of books. "You have forgotten about your partner?'" he raises his eyebrows. I giggle, "No, it's a full-day class and I didn't realise you were waiting for me at my locker. Sorry, dear!" I kiss his cheek to make it up to him. "That's more like it!" says Hugo as we walk the hallway. Luckily, there are no practices for this week, so I can have more time to study.

I see James hitting off with someone! "Let's give them some more time," I whisper when we pass by James. Hugo knows I'm heading to the library whenever classes are done. We have our usual spot to sit. The last class of the day was Sports and learned all about the history of each sport's development until the present day.

I quietly get up from my seat because Hugo had a long day at the tourney field, I bet Ben and Jay were not letting him off easily during class. I found the book I was looking for but the shelf is too high and I can't reach it. Luckily, there's a stool I can stand on. "Got it!" I say. I almost lost my balance, "Gotcha!" Hugo catches me again, "You know you can tell me to get the books for you," Hugo corners me.

I remind him we are still in school, he wants to kiss me but I hold my book up and blush away. He lowers the book and pulls me for a kiss. "Better now?" asks Hugo. "Yeah!" I blush.

Hugo's POV

I can't stop staring at Sofia, she looks so beautiful when she is studying. Her cheeks show a blush even though she didn't put any blusher on. Sofia looks up and catches me staring at her. "Hugo, we are supposed to study!" she whispers. "I'm studying! I'm studying you! You are so perfect in every way for me to fall in love with you," I play with her hair.

"Okay!" Sofia continues to hit the books, I sit closer to her. I see James walking in with the same girl he was talking to along the way. "Hi, James!" Sofia gets up to greet her sibling. "Hey, Sof! Are we interrupting your date?" asks James. Sofia says not at all and we're just studying for the upcoming final semester by the end of the school term. "Good, 'cause we have a birthday party to plan," says James.

I clear my throat cause James has forgotten to introduce his new friend. "My apologies! This is Princess Elizabeth! This is my sibling, Sofia and her partner, Prince Hugo," James introduces Elizabeth to us. "Greetings!" says Elizabeth. "Well, do carry on what you're doing!" says James. "Okay, we'll see you in a bit!" says Sofia.

I tell Sofia that James is not his usual self. "Okay, I'll ask James when head back home," says Sofia. I look at the time, it's time for Sofia to head home. "Oh, your flying coach is here," I say when we reach the school gates. "Princess, Prince James will stay back in school and he asks Prince Hugo to escort you home," says the coachman. I don't see why not.

Sofia's POV

That's weird! Usually, James and I will go home together and he doesn't have any derby practice today. "Sofia, you're coming?" Hugo reaches out his hand, "Yes, yes I am!" I grab his hand and we head home. "Dear, James doesn't have any activities today for this semester," I say. "I know, he is acting weird lately," agrees Hugo. "Princess, we're home!" says the coachman.

Amber is waiting by the stairs as always. "Hugo, what a surprise! Sofia, did James tell you anything?" asks Amber. I shake my head. "Well, the good thing for you is both of your dress fittings are here for the final touch! Just like you both wanted!" she squeals. "Desmond," Hugo and I greet Des when we head up the stairs.
