The school year was winding down, and with it came a sense of change that I had come to embrace. What had started as a playful ruse to appease my friends had blossomed into something deeper with Ethan. Every moment we spent together only confirmed what I felt—this was real, and it was beautiful.

As we walked through the bustling hallway, my heart raced with anticipation. I knew what I wanted to say, but I wasn't sure how to find the right moment. I glanced over at Ethan, who caught my gaze and smiled, his eyes sparkling with warmth.

"Hey, you okay?" he asked, tilting his head slightly.

"Yeah, I just... I've been thinking about us," I replied, feeling the weight of my thoughts.

"Me too," he said, his voice low and earnest.

We reached the courtyard where we often spent our afternoons, and I knew it was time to open up. "Ethan, I need to talk to you about something important." He looked at me, curiosity flickering in his eyes. 

"What's on your mind?" Taking a deep breath, I decided to lay it all out. 

"What started as a fake relationship has turned into something I never expected. I've really fallen for you." His expression shifted, surprise giving way to something deeper. 

"You have no idea how relieved I am to hear that," he confessed, stepping closer. "Because I feel the same way." My heart soared as we stood facing each other, a sense of excitement electrifying the air between us. 

"You do?"

"Absolutely," he said, his gaze steady. "Candyce, from the moment we started this whole fake dating thing, I realized something incredible. I've always admired your strength, your confidence, and the way you light up a room just by being in it. But what I didn't expect was how deeply I'd fall for you. You make me want to be a better person, to challenge myself and step outside my comfort zone. Every laugh we've shared, every moment we've spent together—it's shown me that I can be myself around you. I've liked you for longer than I can admit, and now that we're here, I can't pretend anymore. I love you, and I want to be with you, not just for a show, but because you mean everything to me."

Tears prickled at the corners of my eyes, a mix of joy and relief flooding over me. 

"Ethan, I love you too. I never thought I could feel this way again, especially after everything." He stepped closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. 

"I want you to know that I'm ready to embrace this, to really be with you—no more pretending." In that moment, everything felt right. The doubts that had plagued me seemed to dissolve, replaced by a newfound confidence in our connection. 

"So what do we do now?" I asked, my heart racing.

"Let's tell your friends," he suggested, a playful grin breaking across his face. "I think they deserve to know the truth and they'll be very happy."

As we walked toward the cafeteria, hand in hand, a mix of excitement and nerves bubbled within me. We reached our friends, and I could see Seoyoon and the others laughing together at a table.

"Hey, everyone!" I called out, trying to quell my racing heart. "We have something to share!"

Seoyoon looked up, curiosity lighting up her face. "What's up?"

Ethan stepped forward, his demeanor shifting to something more serious. "We wanted to let you know that we were just pretending to date, just to make you guys shut up. But now.. We're actually dating."

The reaction was immediate—laughter, cheers, and a chorus of "Finally!" erupted from our friends. Seoyoon rushed over, practically tackling us both in a hug.

"I knew it! You two are perfect for each other!" she exclaimed, her excitement contagious. After the initial chaos of celebration settled, Ethan turned to me, his expression softening. 

"There's something I need to show you," he said, his voice serious.

He led me away from the crowd to a quieter spot outside, a small alleyway hidden from the bustling school life. The world around us faded as we stepped into the secluded corner.

"What's this about?" I asked, a smile tugging at my lips.

"This is my favorite place," he said, leaning against the wall. "It's peaceful here, just like I want this moment to be." I felt a sense of calm wash over me as I stood in front of him. The sunlight filtered through the buildings, casting a warm glow around us. I could see the emotions flickering in his eyes, and it made my heart race.

"Ethan," I said softly, "I'm so glad we took this step together. I've never felt this way about anyone before." He stepped closer, his gaze locking onto mine.

 "Candyce, I've been waiting to do this since the moment I realized I loved you." Before I could respond, he cupped my face in his hands and kissed me. The world melted away, and it was just us—wrapped in a moment that felt like it could last forever. His lips were warm and soft, igniting a spark within me that took my breath away. When he finally pulled back, I could hardly speak, my heart racing. 

"Wow," I whispered, still feeling the warmth of his kiss.

"Wow indeed," he replied, a grin spreading across his face. "I've wanted to do that for so long."

"Me too," I admitted, my heart swelling with happiness. "This feels so right."

Ethan leaned in again, his voice low. "Let's make this real. Together, we can face anything."

I nodded, my smile widening. "Absolutely. Together."

As we stepped out of the alleyway, ready to face the world, I felt a sense of purpose and love guiding us. Hand in hand, we walked back to our friends, knowing that this was just the beginning of something truly special.
