✨SURPRISE ✨

My head felt like it was being split in two, the echoes of last night's party still drumming painfully behind my eyes. As I sat up in bed, the sound of Aarav's voice pierced through the haze, sharp and insistent.

"Ayan! Jaldi kar! We have to pick up Shivi from the airport!" Aarav screamed for what felt like the millionth time, pacing around the living room like a man on a mission.
(Ayan! Be quick! We have to pick Shivi up from the Airport!)

I groaned, rubbing my temples. Did he really have to shout like that?

"Dude, stop screaming. Your sister won't land any faster if you scream extra," Rudra shot back, rolling his eyes as he sat on the couch, lazily scrolling through his phone.

Aarav ignored him, clearly too wound up to care. It was his sister, Aashvi, and her best friend, Ruhanika, coming back after three years. Sure, it was a big deal to him, but Rudra was right-screaming wouldn't change shit

Priyansh wandered into my room, yawning as he stretched. He had the same 'hangover chic' look I imagined I was sporting-messy hair, wrinkled clothes, and a dead expression. He raised an eyebrow at Aarav's frantic pacing.

"Aaru, you're acting like she's coming back after ages," Priyansh said, his voice calm despite the chaos. "Shivi and Anika are only coming back after three years. I'm calm, I'm cool. You should try it too."

"Can you guys calm the fuck down?" Rudra grumbled, rubbing his eyes. "My head hurts."

I couldn't help but smirk, even with the pounding in my skull. "Who told you to drink so much last night?"

Rudra shot me a look but didn't have the energy to snap back. The whole group had gone hard at the party-music, drinks, and enough wild stories to last a lifetime. But now, all that seemed to matter was getting to the airport on time.

But beneath the joking and the headache, something else stirred inside me-something that made me feel like absolute shit. It was more than just nerves. I wasn't ready to deal with whatever this was.

I tried to shake off the uneasy feeling building in my chest, but the anticipation buzzing under my skin wouldn't let go. Get a grip, man! She's your best friend's younger sister. For God's sake, we grew up together!

Aarav glared at all of us, clearly unimpressed. "You guys don't get it. Shivi hasn't been home in three years. Three. Whole. Years." His voice was filled with a mix of excitement and panic.

"And she'll be fine if you're five minutes late," I muttered, dragging myself out of bed. But the truth was, I wasn't as cool as I pretended to be. At Least not when it came to her.

I stretched a bit, feeling the stiffness in my body, and dragged myself into the bathroom-only to be greeted by the lovely sight of Rudra hunched over the toilet, throwing up.
