"Sir, you can’t enter the CEO floor without clearance!" a voice called out sharply behind me.
I paused, turning around with a raised eyebrow. "Good evening to you too, Stacy."
It took her a moment to register who I was. "Oh! Mr. Shandilya, my apologies. I didn’t recognize you from behind." She composed herself quickly and extended her hand, which I shook firmly. "How are you, sir?"
"I’ve been well, thank you. And you?" My tone was calm, but I studied her for a second. Stacy had been Aashvi's personal assistant for nearly four years, and in that time, she had proven herself.
"I'm good, sir. Busy, but that's how we thrive here," she replied with a polite smile.
"Busy managing my storm, I assume?" I asked with a small, knowing grin.
Stacy let out a quiet laugh, though she kept it professional. "Ma'am certainly knows how to keep things interesting, but no, she doesn’t overwork us. In fact, she’s quite considerate."
I nodded, though I knew Aashvi could be unpredictable—brilliant, but with a tendency to challenge those around her.
"Speaking of which," Stacy continued, quickly shifting gears, "Your storm sorry My. Aashvi Ma'am is in her cabin. She’s already asked me to coordinate with the photography team, and everything is set up on the seventh floor. You and ma'am can join them whenever you're ready."
"Perfect," I said, rolling my eyes at her remarks. "Though, we might take longer than expected." I grinned at her.
Stacy smiled, her composure steady. "I wouldn’t be surprised, sir," she said, a smirk tugging at her lips. "But remember, you both have a reputation to uphold, and her cabin isn’t soundproof. I’m not exactly in the mood to hear... noises I won’t be able to erase from my memory."
I nearly choked on air at her bold remark, causing her to burst into a fit of laughter.
(A/n: tsk tsk koi bhi bechare ke maje le leta hai)"It’s far too easy to work you up," she teased between laughs.
Clearing my throat, I composed myself. "That’s not what I meant," I replied, narrowing my eyes at her.
"Of course not," Stacy said, her voice turning back to its professional tone, though her amusement was still evident. She glanced at her watch. "I’ll check in with the photography team to make sure everything's still running smoothly. If you need anything, just let me know."
I gave her a curt nod, watching as she turned to leave. As I continued toward Aashvi’s office, I called out after her, "Oh, and Stacy?"
She paused, turning back. "Yes, sir?"
"Don’t count on me keeping track of time," I said, a grin pulling at my lips. "You know how things tend to go."
