Sky:
It was the first day back to school. Except I'm in high school now. Yup that's right little junior highers I'm the queen! As for high schoolers.... I'm at the bottom of the pyramid and royalty is seniors.
I walked over to Jays locker and slammed it. Then put my hand on it and stood slanted. He started at me and chuckled. "So freshman. What are you doing today?" I said lifting my eyebrow. He laughed at me.
"Nothing, freshman. How about you?"

I laughed, "I'm going shopping. Wanna come?"

"Do I have much of a choice?"

"Nope, you're driving." I threw my keys at him and walked to the cafeteria.
I heard him give a slight laugh as he jogged to catch up with me. He opened the door for me and we sat at an empty table.

"So Jay, what'd you do all summer?"

"I uhh, I was with you all summer Sky."

"Oh yea. I remember that! I was there!"

We had a staring contest for no reason and burst out laughing. I noticed something though. The way he stared at me was different than usual. He was thinking something. What was it?

"Jay, what are you thin-" the bell rang.

"Sorry Sky. We gotta get to class. Ask me at lunch. K?"

I stood up with him. "Ok."

Lunch
___

The cafeteria is a lot more crowded with 4 grades. In junior high it was 2 grades and lunch was in and out in 20 minutes. Today I spent 15 minutes just looking for Jay.
Finally he waved his hand in the air and screamed "Sky over here!" I walked towards him and he pulled me into a hug. What was going on with him? It was weird.

I pulled away from the hug.
"Hey Jay. What were you Thinking this morning?"

"What do you mean, adorable?" He poked my nose.

"During our staring contest. I've been your friend since forever I know you were thinking something. What was it?"

He looked down in disappointment.

"Sky." He looked up. "Can I talk to you outside. Just you and I?"

"What about lunch???!!"

"You want an answer. Don't you?"
Usually he'd laugh at what I said. Somethings wrong, I knew it!

I sighed. "Yes I want an answer. Let's go."

He grabbed my hand and we walked out of the cafeteria. He walked until we were in the parking lot. He meant it when he said just us. No one else was there.

"Sky..."

"Yea..?"

"I..." He snapped out of whatever he was in. "Nothing. It was nothing. I'm fine."

I stepped closer to him and looked into his eyes. He was tearing up.
"Jay tell me. You can trust me I'm your best friend." I lightly grabbed his arm to get his attention. "Look at me Jay. Tell me what's going on."
He pulled away and faced the opposite direction, tears rolling down his cheeks.

"That's just it Sky. You only see us as friends!" He started screaming, it wasn't too loud but it was screaming. He quickly turned to face me.
"Sky! I'm in love with you! I have been for so long now! And-and I don't understand how you can't see it! The way I look at you! The way I treat you! All I've wanted is you to be mine! I love you! I love everything about you! The way you act in different situations! Your personality and confidence! You! But you never noticed..."

He stopped screaming and calmed down a bit. He slowly brought himself to the curb and sat down. I sat next to him and rubbed his back.

In a whisper he said, "I love you, sky."
