I pulled away from my mate. I didn't want to, and it hurt me a little inside when I did, but I needed to find out some things.

When I looked back into his eyes, he smirked, revealing his pearly whites. I couldn't help but smile back.

"What's wrong love?" He took a step closer and i let him. I was no longer afraid like I was before. In the woods. He was there, and he had told me that he knew me. Who I was. He said I knew him. Is this what he meant?
"Do you wanna..." I trailed off, hoping he would understand what I was trying to say. His smirk grew wider and his eyes glinted with something I have never seen before. Or maybe I have, but the electric color in his eyes made everything look...beautiful.
"Do I want to what?" He stepped even closer, his hot breath stood on my neck, making me shiver. His nearness made my blood boil, my heart accelerate.

This is what it feels like.

"You must tell me what you mean, Arabella," my name rolled off his tung like honey. "Because what you're wanting to do, and what I'm wanting to do, are most likely very, very different things." He took one step back and I shuddered.
"I just- can we-" I stuttered, trying to concentrate but my wolf was pleading with me. Begging me to have him take me right here.
He bent down into my ear, his 6'7 height towering over my 5'4, and whispered.
"I would gladly take you right here. But I have a feeling your curious as to who I am." I could feel his smirk without having to look at him.
I nodded my head and lead the way into my house, up the stairs, and into my bedroom.

I stood in front of the bed and motioned to it.
"You can sit there if you'd like." I say, taking a seat on my vanity stool. He just shrugs and continues standing.
"What, is it too girly for you?" I ask, sarcasm full blown.
His chuckle rumbles deep in his chest, making me blush.
"No darling. But if I sat on that bed," he motions to it, "then I think you might just find me irresistible."

My blush deepenes way to many shades of Crimson and I look away.

"Alright, ask away." He says, leaning against the door.
"Your name." I state, shaky handed.
His eyebrows lift. "What about it."
"Well...what is it?" I ask.

He smirks his signature smirk and pushes himself off of the wall. When he starts to walk towards me, my heart rate quickens and I stand. He continues to stalk towards me seductively, making my insides quiver. He bends down and tucks a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
"Aiden." He takes a step back and his eyes go cold.

Aiden. I say over and over. Aiden. His name sounded so good in my mind.

"Aiden. I like that." I say, smiling. He smirks and takes a step closer.
"Yeah?" His smile is contagious. I swear it.
I nod my head and blush, making me look down.
"Yeah."

I sit down on my bed and place a pillow onto my lap. Aiden fallows and sits down next to me, leaving a small space between us.

We don't speak for a while, instead, we sit in a awkward silence. When I'm about to say something, Aiden looks at me.
"I-"
"What do you feel for Simon." It was more of a statement than a question.

I'm taken aback by it and it takes me a second to comprehend what he asked.

"What?" Is all I'm able to say.
The look in Aidens eyes is pure annoyances and hate.
"Simon. He was here this morning. Happy when he arrived, yet, upset when he left. If I recall, he might have been..." Aiden pauses as if he's trying to find the right word. "Crying." He says simply.

Tears threatened to spill from my eyes, but I couldn't let them. I will not fall. I refuse to let Simon get to me.

"It doesn't matter. He's over me anyways." I say, looking away from Aiden. My heart aches for Simon. I never meant to hurt him. I thought I loved him. And maybe I did, but what I feel with Aiden....funny. I just met him and I'm already falling for him.
Aiden 'tsk's, clicking his tung and shaking his head side to side.
"You and I both know that's not true Bella." I slowly lift my head to meet his gaze. He is staring at me so intently I can't make myself look away.

A tear falls freely from my eyes and Aiden is quick to wipe it away. The contact his thumb made with my cheek sent a spark from his touch, down to my toes.

Aiden looks at me questioningly and then frowns slightly.
"Yet, why do I get the feeling you're not over him?"

I can't help but let another tear fall, making Aiden scoot closer to me, resting my head into his chest. His nearness calms me and I breath in his scent.

Mint and pine.

He strokes my back and hair, whispering soothing things into my ear.

"I'm sorry." I say, pulling away from him. He looks hurt for a moment, then his eyes go back to normal. Showing nothing.
"I would say I understand, but I don't want to lie to you." He says coolly. I huff and smile a small smile.
"What," I ask, "you've never been in love?"
His eyes show a hint of something I can't quite put my finger on, but instantly fades.
"Is that what you would call the two of you? In love?" He states. I blink in response and then swallow a large lump In my throat.

No. We were never in love. It wasn't epic. I can only love my mate that way. I can only love Aiden.

"No." Is all I say.
"No." He says. "I didn't think so. Besides, I haven't either. But you already know that."
It takes me a moment to realize why, but the moment it clicks, he continues to talk. "I mean, I can only love you, Arabella. And I will only love you. That's a promise."

Oh my god. You have no idea how much I want to tackle this man and make out with him. Everyone says when they first meet there mate, he kisses her. So why hasn't Aiden?

"I know what you're thinking." He says, one eyebrow cocked, a hint of a smile on his face.
I squint my eyes and lean forward slightly, crossing my legs in the process.

Aiden looks me up and down before his eyes land on my lips.
He starts to lean in and so do I, the tension building in my chest, begging to be released. Why won't he just do it already?!

When his lips are only a breath away from mine, he moves them to my cheek.
"Why I haven't kissed you." He whispers.
I smile and lean back.
"Yes. That's what I was thinking."
His eyes sparkle and he smirks.

Just when I think he is going to make the move, he stands.

"I must go now." He says, turning and walking towards my window.
"What? Where are you going?" I ask, standing with him.
He unlocks my window and let's one leg out. Before he puts the other in, he turns and looks at me.

"About that kiss..."
