⟢ DATING

── .✦ THEODORE HAD ALWAYS been full of surprises, but nothing could have prepared you for the day you discovered his talent for cooking. it wasn't something he flaunted - like everything else with him, it was subtle, quiet, and revealed only to those who mattered. in your case, though, it was becoming one of your favorite things about him.

you'd been dating for almost an year now, and with each passing day, you discovered a new layer of him. whether it was his protectiveness, his tender side when he called you "amore," or the way he secretly adored cuddling, theodore kept you on your toes. but this? this was next level.

it all started one lazy sunday afternoon in the common room. you were curled up on one of the sofas, reading a book, while theodore had been pacing around, looking mildly irritated. you'd learned by now that his restless energy often had to be channeled into something productive.

"everything alright?" you asked, lowering your book and watching him carefully. he stopped pacing and looked at you, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "you hungry?"
you tilted your head, a little confused by the question. "i mean... i could eat, why?"

without another word, theodore grabbed your hand and pulled you up from the sofa, dragging you out of the common room and down toward the kitchens. you laughed the entire way, trying to figure out what on earth he was planning, but he kept his lips sealed.

when you arrived at the entrance to the kitchens, theodore tickled the pear in the painting, and the door swung open to reveal the bustling house elves inside. you'd been here before, but never like this. this time, theodore was on a mission.

"theo, what are you-?"
"just trust me." he said, his voice soft but firm as he led you inside.

he walked straight over to the counter where the house elves were preparing food for dinner. with a nod of understanding, they cleared the space for him, and he immediately got to work, rolling up the sleeves of his shirt and grabbing ingredients from the shelves with an expert's ease.

you stood there, slightly dumbfounded, watching him with wide eyes. theodore? cooking? you couldn't have imagined it, but now that you were seeing it, it somehow made perfect sense.

"theo, since when do you know how to cook?" you asked, crossing your arms and leaning against the counter as you observed him with amusement. he smirked, tossing a quick glance your way as he cracked an egg into a bowl with one hand. "since forever. my mum taught me before she got sick, and i guess i just kept at it. i find it... calming."

you smiled softly at the mention of his mum, your heart swelling with affection. it made sense that she would have passed something so personal onto him, and now he was sharing it with you.

"well," you said, grinning. "i'm definitely not complaining. what's on the menu today, chef nott?"
he chuckled as he began whisking the ingredients together. "i was thinking something sweet. you've been eyeing those desserts at the great hall lately, and they haven't been up to par, in my opinion."
