── .✦ THE SLYTHERIN COMMON ROOM buzzed with excitement, filled with the energy of students celebrating their victory over gryffindor in the quidditch match. the emerald and silver banners draped the walls, shimmering in the dim light cast by the greenish glow of the lake outside. the air was thick with the sound of laughter, music, and the clinking of goblets filled with butterbeer and firewhiskey. slytherin had finally triumphed, and the house was reveling in the glory of it all.

you stood near the fireplace, talking to your close friend, amelia greengrass. amelia had been your confidante since first year, and the two of you had been inseparable ever since. her long, platinum blonde hair cascaded down her back in soft waves, and her sharp blue eyes sparkled with mischief as she recounted the highlights of the match.

"did you see the look on potter's face when malfoy caught the snitch? priceless!" amelia giggled, her laughter infectious. you couldn't help but join in, the memory of the moment bringing a satisfied grin to your face. "i thought mcgonagall was going to have a heart attack," you added, shaking your head. "she looked like she couldn't believe it."
amelia nodded, taking a sip of her drink. "gryffindors always think they're unbeatable. it's about time someone put them in their place."

the two of you shared a knowing look, the satisfaction of the victory still fresh in your minds. it wasn't just about winning the match - it was about proving that slytherin was still a force to be reckoned with. the rivalry between the houses had always been intense, but tonight, the slytherins were the ones celebrating, and it felt like justice.

as you continued to chat with amelia, you felt a strange sensation - like someone was watching you. you glanced around the room, but with so many students packed into the common room, it was hard to tell. shrugging it off, you turned back to your friend.

"so, who do you think will be the first to pass out tonight?" amelia asked, her eyes scanning the room with amusement.

you laughed, about to make a joke about lorenzo and his fondness for firewhiskey, when you felt a presence beside you. turning, you found yourself face to face with a boy you didn't recognize. he had dark hair, a roguish grin, and a look in his eyes that made you instantly wary.

"hey there," he said, his voice smooth as he leaned in closer. "i couldn't help but notice you from across the room. you're too beautiful to be standing here alone."
you blinked, caught off guard by the sudden attention. "um, thanks, but i'm not alone." you replied, glancing at amelia for support. amelia raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed by the boy's approach. "she's right here with me." she said pointedly, her tone cold.

the boy ignored her, his gaze fixed on you. "how about i get you a drink? something stronger than what you've got there."
you frowned, uncomfortable with his persistence. "no, really, i'm fine." you insisted, taking a step back. but the boy didn't seem to get the hint. he moved closer, his hand brushing against your arm as he leaned in again. "come on, don't be shy. it's a party, after all."
