If you want me to be honest here...I don't even know where to start or begin. I truly didn't think I would be writing this so soon. I was scared for this day to come, and yet here it is. This is one death the world didn't want to wake up to today. As with death, we aren't prepared. On September 27, 2024, Dame Maggie Smith passed away at the age of 89. According to a statement made by her two sons, she died in a London hospital on Friday morning, and as of the current time, no cause of death has been released.

While at this time, no cause of death has been publicly given, she had let the public know of some of her health struggles throughout the years. Such as, in 1988, she was diagnosed with Grave's disease (a disease in which the immune system attacks the thyroid gland for unknown reasons) and during the filming of the 6th Harry Potter movie 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, she was battling breast cancer and this lasted for at least 2 years as she had went through treatment. After those 2 years, she was cancer-free. She also had hip replacement surgery and sometime had glaucoma. So, whether she passed from natural causes or something unknown, it's clear to see that Maggie was a true fighter.

This is also just shy of one year, as a year ago, on September 27, 2023, Michael Gambon, who played Albus Dumbledore in HP, suddenly passed away. His death was publicly known by the following day. Everyone is in shock at the mere coincidence of both Maggie and Michael passing on the same day within a year. At this time of writing this, it's still very fresh, so it's been very difficult for everyone, including me, to process this. I'm in complete shock and so heartbroken.💔 I loved Maggie so much; she truly was a rare gem and one of my favorite actresses. My heart is really aching, this hurts bad. We've lost too many great people.😭
