That question made King Jungkook shut his mouth. Indeed, what would he choose? Both were important to him. He couldn't give up either of them.
He looked at Taehyung who was looking at him waiting for his answers. He kissed Taehyung's forehead and said, "Don't think about unnecessary things. That day won't come when I have to choose. Be a good boy."
"En." Taehyung smiled in pain.
He didn't get the answer.
The next day, Taehyung was standing in the garden watering the flowers. Gardening was also one of his hobbies and kept him busy in the palace. Prince Eunwoo was walking past the palace when he saw Taehyung standing in the middle of the garden. The sunlight enveloped him and his gentle smile mesmerized Prince Eunwoo who just stood there like a statue for a while admiring Taehyung. He couldn't stop himself from admiring him even though he knew Taehyung already belonged to another person. He just couldn't stop himself from falling and none had made him feel like that before.
Since childhood, he had always been competing with King Jungkook. They both admired rare and beautiful things and would compete for them. Something he would get his hands on those rare things and sometimes King Jungkook. Sometimes he would even steal from his highness to provoke him but King Jungkook never cared about those things once he got his hands on them.
Prince Eunwoo smiled and walked towards Taehyung who still hadn't noticed him.
"He's like an angel. Too bad he is already claimed by him."
"Good morning, Taehyung."
Taehyung was startled by the sudden voice behind him. He turned and looked at Prince Eunwoo who was smiling at him. He also bowed and replied, "Good morning, Prince."
Prince Eunwoo looked at the flowers and said looking back at Taehyung. "You can just call me Eunwoo."
Taehyung's face got flushed and said, "How c-can I do that? You are the prince."
"It's okay. Even if I am a prince, I want to be friends with you. Just call me by my name."
"Yes, E-Eunwoo," Taehyung said lowering his head.
Prince Eunwoo laughed and said, "Aren't you adorable?" Taehyung didn't say anything. Prince Eunwoo then looked around and saw a bench on another side and said, "Let's go there and chat for some time. Where is his highness?"
"He said he had some matters to attend with the minister of war so he went away earlier," Taehyung said as they both started to walk towards the bench.
They both sat on the bench with a space between them.
"Are you studying medicine?" Prince Eunwoo asked.
Taehyung was shocked and asked, "H-How do you know?"
Prince Eunwoo suddenly leaned towards Taehyung, took a long breath near Taehyung's neck and said, "I can smell medicine on you."
Taehyung shifted a little back and said, "You guessed right. My father is a doctor so, I also want to be like him. And what about you?""They are nothing interesting. I just studied politics and wars. They will be helpful for the kingdom in the future."
"Wow!! You must be intelligent."
"Haha, you are also intelligent, Taehyung." Pince Eunwoo said pinching Taehyung's cheek. They both smiled and went silent. The atmosphere became awkward for a while. Then Prince Eunwoo asked, "Taehyung... if you don't mind, can I ask you something personal?"
Taehyung knew what the prince was going to ask. Taehyung nodded his head and said, "Sure."
"About that, umm-- Are you and his highness really in love?"
Taehyung smiled and answered, "Yes."
Prince Eunwoo got a little bit sad after hearing from Taehyung's mouth. He could see the love on Taehyung's face and eyes and he realized maybe he had no chance to be in Taehyung's heart. He also knew that love and smile wouldn't be for too long. Did he know about his Highness's fiance?
"When did you meet him?"
"Like about two months ago."
"How did you meet him?"
Taehyung chuckled and said, "It was almost like a fairy tale. You know, a hero saves the princess. It's a long story."
Prince Eunwoo said, "I have also heard about it. You saved his highness from death. Did you fall in love with him after that?"
"Maybe or maybe not. I used to stay in my isolated world and suddenly one day he stepped into my world breaking the wall. I saved his life without knowing who he was and he was also really gentle and friendly not like the one you all see in the palace." Taehyung said reminiscing.
"It's all fun until you both start hurting each other." Okay, Prince Eunwoo admits he was getting jealous and he was also selfish. "You know he already has a fiance and will get married to her."
Taehyung's gentle expression was replaced with a painful one and replied, "I know."
Prince Eunwoo was shocked. "If you know then are you okay with that?"
"Yeah, otherwise I wouldn't be here. He is the first person I love from deep inside my heart. It's like his name is already engraved in my heart and bones. I tried to leave him but my heart hurts so much. You know people say you become a fool after if you fall in love." Taehyung chuckled then said, "I guess I am one of them. I just can't stop loving him even though I know he is getting married and I have to share him with someone else."
Prince Eunwoo got silent seeing his sad face. This fool had already fallen too deep for that devil who didn't deserve this angel. Prince Eunwoo was starting to feel upset too. He then ruffled Taehyung's hair and said, "If he ever mistreats you and makes you cry, come to me. I am also strong."
Taehyung smiled and said, "Yeah, thanks for your concern."
After that Prince Eunwoo left the palace. Now Taehyung was sitting alone thinking about the conversation he just had with the prince.
"Will I ever be able to see Jungkook with others?"
His heart started to beat in pain with just the thought of that. He had thought he had managed to compromise and wouldn't get hurt but every time his heart betrayed him.
"It's okay. Jungkook had said he only loved me. This will be over soon."
