"What do you mean army man?" Ian calls out.
"Don't you dare say there's another war coming."

"There won't be." Haider reassures him but everyone looks uncertain.

Amara is the next to speak,
"It's not an army. It can't be. All the people have varying ages starting from as early as 10 years old to 50."

"So the question is what are they doing to all these people, if not using them to fight." Warner jumps to his feet. Green eyes silently ask something of Nazeera and Juliette to which they both nod.

Stephan drops a kiss on his wife's head and stands as well.
"Warner and I have a lead to chase in Africa. You'll know as soon as we have any updates."

When they leave the room is once again silent.

"So," this time Winston talks,
"If we find these missing people, we'll find the psychos after you?"

"Yeah I guess so." J runs her hands through her hair.
"But we have no idea how the hell we can do that."

My fiancé opens up her laptop and I wheel my chair over to her. Well first I crash into the wall then ask J to push me to Nazeera. Our chairs collide and Naz gives me an annoyed but amused look. She's typing stuff - I think she's talking to the other Supremes.

"The people who destroyed our facilities were Unnaturals." Haider says this quietly, staring at the table.
"We're dealing with powerful abilities, for them to do such things."

Nazeera stops what she's doing and glances at Haider. His gaze shifts to Zahra then he promptly leaves.
I think everyone's a bit freaked.

Zahra clears her throat,
"I'll just go."

"There's no need for you to leave." Naz shuts her laptop lid and I notice her rubbing two of her fingers together.

Zahra looks perplexed and shakes her head.
Nazeera shrugs.
"Don't worry about the city. I have other things for you to do here."

She opens her mouth to object but my fiancé gives her a stern look. One that commands her obedience. Zahra has no choice but to listen to the Supreme Commander and she smiles gratefully.

Brendan nudges my shoulder,
"Hey mate, we're all gonna go to the tech lab. Wanna come with?"

Huh.
"What's so great about a tech lab?"

"Well Winston is like obsessed with the technology there and-"

Brendan's boyfriend gapes at him.
"Okay no I'm not obsessed. I just think that it's nice- and don't even start Brendan you also-"

They continue bickering and Lily waves a little goodbye before dragging them out.
I ask the girls if they have any more work to do and J says they're free to come as well. The 5 of us start down the hall when Naz lets go of my hand.

"I'm gonna go check on Haider. I'll see you there."

I frown, "did something happen?"

Nazeera shakes her head, though I see her clenching her jaw.
"No, he's fine. I know he's fine. I just want to make sure."

I nod and quickly land a kiss on her lips before she stalks off. The girls in front of me are immersed in their own conversation so I get lost in my thoughts.

My eyes drift to a window and witness the extreme light from the sun. Time feels like it's flying by. It's literally already mid October.
October...Nazeera and I are supposed to get married in about 2 months. 2 months and 15 days.

I cringe- why the hell is that the biggest thing on my mind?
Nazeera has other things to worry about than that. She's so stressed and anxious and I can tell she feels responsible for the nightmares we're going through. And all my stupid selfish brain is thinking about is being her husband.
