Chapter 29

"Are you kids really trying?" All Might cackled as he rushed between me and Katsuki. The Pro Hero swung his arm against me, casting me to the side once again.

I vomited blood as I clutched my face where All Might landed his hit. Before I was able to regain my stance, I looked over at Katsuki and saw that he was punched yet again by All Might.

"K-Katsuki..." I croaked helpessly as I crawled towards where he was.

He just looked... so defeated. And I wondered why. He was never like this. He would always hold his head high. He wouldn't just accept defeat. That's the Katsuki I know and admire. Not... this.

"Ha! I know why you're so angry, Young Bakugo. Because of Young Midoriya's sudden improvement, right? But you have to remember each of your rankings when the year first began. It's much easier to level up when you're a novice. You're wasting your full potential." The No. 1 Hero mocked as Katsuki struggled to stand. The ash blonde groaned in pain, eyes void of courage and bravado.

"Do you see that? Do you understand me? You still have so much room to grow stronger, boy. And I don't just mean your quirk." All Might concluded but was cut off by Katsuki's sudden retort.

"Shut up, All Might. If I'm so bad that I have to get help from a weakling like him... If I'm so bad that I get to injure Y/N with my quirk again, like how I always fucking do... then I'd rather lose this. Do you hear me?" Katsuki grunted still with his hands trembling, and eyes quivering in fear.

K-Katsuki... Y-You what?!?

I gritted my teeth as to what I have heard the ash blonde said. My mind went blank as I shot up and raced towards where the ash blonde was. Don't you fucking dare!

I achingly stood in front of Katsuki, looked him dead in the eyes and *BAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!*

The sound of my slap echoed through the buildings leaving a shocked All Might and Izuku on sight.

Katsuki, slowly turned to face me, cheek still red upon contact with my palm. I was panting both in anger and in frustration. I didn't even know that I was crying at this point but my heart was shouting, desperate to reach this boy in front of me.

"Heroes always give it their all no matter what. They fucking win no matter what!" I bellowed, hoping, praying, that my words were finally going to get through him.

"Those were your words Katsuki! Now don't you fucking say you'd rather lose this fight. You know damn well how much I trust you, so fucking trust me too and let's win this together!" I concluded, eyes devoid of uncertainty. He looked at me, still surprised, but I noticed now that his crimson orbs were unwavering, like he had gone back to his senses.

"Now that's courage, Young L/N. But don't forget that I'm still here." All Might announced, cutting me off, as he readied his punch towards me. I gulped in fear as I activated my quirk but my forcefield was easily shattered to pieces by his punch.

"Shit!" I gasped as I tried to regain my stance and activate a forcefield once again.

As the Pro Hero was about to land another punch, we were crashed upon by Izuku who then carried both me and Katsuki towards the buildings to hide.

"Drop me, you bastard." Katsuki groaned in pain as Izuku carried him by his shoulder.

"No, not until we get to somewhere far from All Might!" Izuku retorted but was nudged by the ash blonde instead resulting to us three tumbling down the corridor.

"OH WOULD YOU TWO STOP FUCKING ARGUING FOR ONE MINUTE AND START COMMUNICATING LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE?!" I snapped, panting and eyeing at the boys in front of me. The two of them quieted down at last and I sighed in frustration.
