it was the middle of the afternoon, and yeji was standing in front of the microwave, waiting for the timer to go off. she was heating some popcorn for a movie night.
she finished all her homework for class and asked yeonjun if he wanted to watch a movie. he responded before she could finish her sentence.
he was already on the couch, waiting for her to hurry up with the snacks.
the microwave chimed, and yeji opened it, steam billowing as she reached for the popcorn bag. she poured the popcorn into a bowl and added some melted butter.
"done!" yeji spun around, making her way to the living room. yeonjun was clicking through movies. recently, she discovered that yeonjun had watched almost everything available on netflix. it was harder to find something he hadn't watched already.
"are you still looking for something?"
"there's nothing new!" he sighed.
"so just watch something you already saw."
"fine," yeonjun pouted. he grumbled a bit, clenching his teeth.
she smiled at him before putting her head against yeonjun's shoulder. yeonjun's arm instantly wrapped around the back of the couch, allowing her to get closer and lean into him. she wondered where he learned that from.
yeji glanced up slightly. yeonjun still had those eyes fixed on the tv. he was concentrating. yeji started to wonder if he was always this handsome.
she realized how casual and domestic this cuddle was and felt the blood rise to her face. usually, yeji wasn't one for cuddling, but yeonjun made her feel really comfortable. he was like a giant stuffed animal that made her feel warm.
suddenly, there was a knock on the door. yeji snapped out of her trance. she didn't think she was having company over today.
"yeji? it's chaeryeong!"
yeji remembered that chaeryeong told her she was stopping by on her way back from the gym.
yeji panicked as she looked at yeonjun. he didn't seem bothered by the door at all. he was so distracted watching trailers.
