TWO YEARS LATER......

"Come on Iciro! I need to show you something!" A young girl called out as she ran through the house.

"I'm coming, I'm coming." Iciro responded as he tried to catch up to her.

The young girl Iciro was running after was Maryline. She was the fourteen-year-old daughter of Ellen, Queen Penelope's dress maker. Ellen was Polites' old friend, and she has been taking care of Iciro ever since Polites left for war. Within the years Maryline and Iciro became best friends. They loved running around playing together, pretending to be whatever their young bright minds could come up with. Iciro was Maryline's only friend...Maryline was Iciro's only friend and to be honest they wouldn't want it any other way.

"Look what I found." Maryline said as she entered her mom's room.

"Wait...wait Mary. We can't just walk in here."

"Sure we can. Now come on."

She grabbed his hand and gently pulled him into the room.

"Look."

She pointed to the sword that was in a corner of the room.

"Whoa..." Iciro said as he approached it.

"Cool right?"

"Is it your mother's?"

"No. I think it belonged to your father. She told me that he gave it to her before he left for war."

Iciro looked at it with a smile on his face. His father's sword. How come he never noticed it before? Maybe it's because he never stepped in this room before...or maybe it's because he never really looked. As he's admiring the sword he sees something attached to the sword.

"Hey, what's this piece of paper doing on here?" He asked.

"It looks like a note." She answered.

"A note?"

"Open it, open it I want to see what it says."

Iciro opened it and began to read it aloud.

"Iciro if you are reading, I am either still out at war or on my way back home with the king of Ithaca. I leave this sword to you because I have a mission for you. I have no idea how old you are reading this, but I hope you accept the mission. I don't know how long the king, myself, or anyone else that may join us will be gone but if we are gone for too long, I fear the kingdom of Ithaca will be in great danger. I know this is too much to ask but if the time comes, I need you to promise you will do whatever it takes to protect the Queen, Prince, and kingdom of Ithaca...for they mean a lot to my dear friend Odysseus. I know you will be ok. Stay safe until I get back. Your father, Polites."

"You have to promise him."

"What!?! I can't do that!!"

"Iciro!!"

"Mary I can't. I not that skilled of a fighter and I'm scared of almost everythi-"

"It's for the kingdom..."

Iciro paused for a moment. For the kingdom. That line rang through his mind repeatedly. His father loved Ithaca...and would do anything to protect it and its people including the king, queen, and prince and Iciro...sweet sweet Iciro. He strived to be like his father. Kind, brave, strong...and a great warrior. Hesitantly, Iciro made up his mind.

"I'll do it."

"You will?!?"

"My father loves this kingdom...and so do I. If anything or anyone tries to threaten the lives of our people...I have to protect them. Besides..."

Iciro picked up the sword with a smile.

"I want to be legendary."
