Iciro exited the queen's chamber with a triumphant smile. He had done it—he was now the protector of both the queen and the prince. As he strode through the corridors, pride swelled within him, knowing he was honoring the promise he made to his absent father. But his joy was soon to be interrupted.

"So... what did you two do in there?"

Iciro turned to face a taller man with black, curly hair styled in an undercut. The man wore a red toga, and a distinctive scar marked the end of his right eyebrow.

"I'm sorry...but what are you talking about?"

"You just left the queen's room."

"Ok?"

"And you look happy."

"What are you getting at?"

"Do I really have to spell it out for you?"

Iciro glared at the man, growing increasingly frustrated with this tiresome exchange.

The man sighed.

"I know you did... something with the queen. Which honestly makes no sense. You don't look like you'd be that pleasing."

"What are you—"

"You're too small and scrawny... like a mouse. I doubt you could satisfy the queen."

"I beg your pardon, but I did nothing with the queen," Iciro finally spat out, realizing what the man was insinuating.

"Look... I'm already pissed off that she let you, of all people, into her chambers. The least you can do is not deny—"

"I don't know who you are or what your deal is, but I'll have you know, sir, that I would never do anything like that with the queen. She is loyal to her husband, who will be back soon from war. I was only there to speak to her on a private matter, which is none of your business. Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to head to my room in peace."

The man glared at Iciro, but Iciro's gaze remained steadfast. He wasn't about to let this man intimidate him, nor would he tolerate any disrespect towards the queen, especially in his presence.

"What's your name, boy?"

"My name is not important right now. What is important is that you apologize for the vile and vulgar comment you made about my relationship with the queen."

"And if I don't...what will you do, Little Mouse?"

Without thinking Iciro pulled out his sword and pointed right at the man.

"You don't wish to know what I'll do..."
