I posted the first chapter to this book a long time ago and just lost my motivation but here's another chapter for you ☺️
* Arabella's POV *
I make eye contact with the queen which I shouldn't have done as she immediately looks right back at me as if I had cursed her or something. My mom swings her head back the second she thinks I'm insulting our guest.

"Arabella keep your eyes down." My mom makes a snappy remark. I revert my gaze. "It's quite alright, I'd prefer if your daughter looked at me either way." I look up abruptly. The queen just..stood up for me? Weird. When she spoke my body felt all fuzzy. "Sorry..your highness"

I mumble just loud enough for her to hear "Anyways, Arabella will be trained as one of my head guards. A carriage will be outside shortly." She takes a deep breath before continuing. It almost makes me uneasy. " Unfortunately Arabella cannot be in the same carriage as me but, we'll meet at my castle again shortly. Thank you again Arabella." Just like that the queen walks out our home.

"Child. Why the hell were you staring at her highness like that?"
"Like what? I was just looking her in the eyes." I huff annoyed. "Don't let it happen again if you get executed for looking someone in the eyes that you shouldn't I'm not coming to bail you out, honey." My mom lets out a little chuckle.

"Mhm. Oh shit! I don't have my bags packed." I run over to the stairs and hear a snarky little remark my mom makes as I pass by. I make it to my room throwing in all my favorite dresses and glance at my bottle of gin.

" I shouldn't." butttttttt. I pack the bottle in between two fluffy dresses in hopes it doesn't break. I close my suitcase which is barely closing by the way and quickly walk out my bedroom.
I hear beeping outside and see a gorgeous carriage. It's huge! Rose gold with three large windows. The horse guiding the carriage is also magical with a groomed mane, hoofs with hair going down them, and brown sports covering its entire body.

I can't help but awe getting completely distracted by the carriage and its horse. "Excuse me? Lady Bella? You've been staring in space for two minutes." Coming out of my daze I realize there's a guard in front of me. " Oh! I'm sorry am I supposed to come with you?" This is already incredibly awkward " Um, yes lady Bella please come with me." He gives me an annoyed looked and turns back to the carriage. I follow behind him rolling my eyes. He reaches his hand out to help me into the carriage.

"Thank you sir. Also please just call me Arabella." "No." What is his problem? "Oh ok.." I turn my head towards the window. "So, who are you to the queen?" I get no answer. "Hello sir?" Still no answer. I go to ask my question again before he interrupts me.

"I am head guard, a friend of the queen, more significant than you, and also not obligated to answer your question so please don't ask another." Ok rude he clearly doesn't want to talk. I packed a few other things in my suit case to keep me occupied. I dig into my suitcase and find a book. It's a fantasy book about a princess. Ive always wanted to be one but, it's an unreasonable dream. Hours go by when we make an abrupt stop. "We're here."

I hum in response. Grabbing my suitcase I jump out the carriage. It's slightly tall when I jump down I lightly twist my ankle. The guard doesn't notice. "Lady Bella follow me into the castle." I follow him as he walks rather quickly. "Give me your bag."

I hand him my bag. The guard makes a groaning noise when he picks it up. Had I packed that much? "I'm sorry if it's heavy do yo-" He glares at me. "I'm fine, lady Bella, thank you." Ok I guess.
We start walking towards a huge room and stop in front of two guards. One is a man. Broad shoulders and dark olive skin. I notice his blond locs are tied back into a man bun. Cool. "Badge?" Man bun says coldly. Does everyone here just have no emotions?

As I'm looking around mindlessly while the head guard shows his badge I realize I don't know his name. I poke him. "What." I role my eyes "What's your name?" He huffs. "Johnathan." I smirk slightly. What a common name. I was expecting something extraordinary. "Johnathan who?"

As Johnathan is about to answer the other two guards let us through the doors where we are met by the Queen.

I'm actually quite enjoying writing this book hehe. I'm not sure if it will be a slow burn we haven't even gotten to see the queens POV yet !!
