hello there, I am doing Monster Month 2023+2024, why? why not? also yes, I know it's September, keep in mind, as I said earlier: I am insane, and I'm doing FORTY-SEVEN prompts so uh yeah. uh it's 332 words, kinda short but I tried.
Walking alone, at twelve am, was not usually Pearl's idea of fun. However, tonight, she had stayed at the library too long, and had walked there not expecting to have to walk back at twelve am, during September. Yet, here she was, doing exactly that.
Walking along, she could hear the faint crunch of fallen leaves beneath her feet, while the usually mellower fall wind bit at her face.
Looking up from the cold, she saw two, blue, cold, dots looking at her. No, more of staring-straight-into-her-soul, than looking.
Then abruptly, a blue fire lit or appeared, both would be accurate to describe the fire's entrance, above the two dots.
The firelight lit up the face that belonged to the dots, no, eyes. The face was pale and not very kindly, even as it smiled it was still cold, and Pearl could see sharp points in the teeth.
The thing came straight for Pearl, the glowing eyes locked right on her. Right as she braced for impact, or death or something, she felt a slight chill, and looked around to find the thing was nowhere to be seen, and there was no eyes or fire.
Still in shock, Pearl raced back home, where she got a glass of water, changed into her pyjamas, and went to bed.
Pearl woke up in the night, to go to the bathroom, and when she returned she saw something she saw something to only describe as, terrifying and nerve-wracking.
She looked out her window to see the fiery creature staring straight up at her, the glowing blue eyes boring into her soul. The creature bared its teeth and screeched, sounding kind of scratchy like it had a sore throat or something.
Another person came tearing down the street and toppled the creature over, before both of them disappeared, and Pearl went to bed, her heart still racing.
When Pearl woke up, she thought it had been a dream, and would believe that, had there not been one of the creature's teeth on the sidewalk outside.
