*chuckles* I have no idea what I'm doing. Well let's figure it out! aye connected to 1 >:) oh yeah also Pearl and a certain chaos gremlin are siblings, deal with it. I had way too much fun writing the sibling banter. 547 words
Pearl still had the sharp little tooth that she had found on the pavement after that spooky night. She had it in a glass jar, and she planned not to ever take it out.
Pearl was walking home late at night yet again, despite having promised herself not to do so.
Pearl walked swifter than last time and heard a rustle in the bushes near where she was walking.
The rustle moved forward, and Pearl stopped looking around. She had the creepy sensation she was being watched.
It's probably a rabbit or something. Not like two weeks ago, that was a onetime thing.
Still, Pearl looked around then moved forward faster, almost sprinting. She whirled through the streets in fear of the rustle and found herself lost on a street she didn't recognize, which worried her.
Oh no, I somehow got the most cliche way to get lost in a movie. It's like I'm a character in a book or something. She thought.
Pearl tried to squint and read the street sign and only made it to "North F-" before a pale hand went over her mouth and she got dragged into an alley way. All she saw was a blur of red and dirty blond.
Wait, red and dirty blond? Pearl only knew one person like that. The only person who could annoy her and somehow not make her that angry.
The hand relinquished it's grasp on her face, and lowered her slightly into a more comfortable sitting position.
'Sorry, Pearl.' A familiar British accent whispered to her from somewhere above her.
Grian was standing right above her grinning like he hadn't literally just kidnapped his sister off the street and dragged her into an alley way.
'Grian. It's like twelve A.M. on a Monday, why are you dragging me off the street.' She said blinking at her brother who was still grinning.
Pearl stood up and moved her brown hair out of her face. Grian almost looked like a skeleton in the dim lighting.
'Pearl, I had a really important question.' He chirped.
'And you have to drag me into an alley to ask it?' She whispered back indignantly.
'Yeah, because otherwise you wouldn't have answered me.' He said standing on his tippy toes in a feeble attempt to be taller than Pearl. 'I have a really important question for you, and I need you to answer honestly.' He said earnestly.
'A question that is so important you have to kidnap your sister off the street at twelve A.M. on a Monday.' She said rolling her eyes at his antics.
'Yeah. It's really important Pearl, I need you to answer it honestly. It's super important.'
'Well? What is it?' Pearl said, tugging at her red hoodie's sleeves. 'I need to feed Tilly.'
'You haven't fed her yet? It's twelve A.M.' He questioned.
'Well I stayed at the library too long! And then you kidnapped me off the street!' She huffed. 'Now what's the question?'
'Pearl promise to answer honestly?' Grian said holding out his pinky finger.
'Promise.' Pearl answered interlocking her pinky with his in a pinky-promise, and that's the most solemn vow there is.
'Ask me the question.' She said to her brother.
'Ok, remember to answer honestly, this question is really important.' He said pausing to take a breath, and whispering in her ear the question that was so imperative.
'Is the power on?'
