Slowly, I pulled up into the car park right outside the jewellery store. The first thing I noticed was that there seemed not to be many cars at all. The store itself was humble and homely, the sign washed and wearing out, reading "Paddie's Jewellers, Family owned".

Pushing open the door, I was met with the sight of glass cases showing the different pieces of valuable items. I strolled around, looking at each one carefully, trying to find the same pearl necklace. It should be here somewhere...

"Hey! Can I help you?"

I turned around, my eyes meeting a pair of chocolate-dark ones. I immediately noticed his British accent. The mystery person was a boy around my age, perhaps a couple years older, and very, very handsome. His hair was also brown, almost brunette, styled like the iconic Leonardo Di Caprio hairstyle in Titanic. A white button-up shirt hung loosely to his frame, paired with a pair of black dress pants.

"Um yeah. I'm wondering if you have this necklace in store?" I said, showing him the photo on my phone.

"Yeah, we should. Let me grab it for you..."

As he looked through the boxes, I decided to start a conversation.

"What's your name?" I asked, leaning against the glass cases.

"Mateo. You?"

"Y/N."

He smiled, "Pretty name. It suits you."

I smiled back, "So how old are you?"

"Turning 19 in two weeks." he answered, pulling out a box, "What about you?"

"I'm 17." I looked around the shop, "You run this place by yourself?"

He chuckled and pulled out a box off the shelf, "Nope, I help out on the holidays. It my grandma's. We opened this shop when we moved from England."

I nodded, "Do you live with her? Your grandma, I mean."

"Yeah, my dad runs a business in England."

"What about your mum?"

"She passed away two years ago." he shrugged.

"oh, sorry. i didnt know-"

"Dont worry about it, so is this the necklace you were looking for?" the same pearl necklace was now infront of me, nestled in the velvet box.

"Yep. Thanks."

He bought it over to the cash register, "Total of $30."

"$30? I thought it was $40?"

"Special price for a special lady" he smirked, winking at me as I left the store, smiling.

On the receipt read a note.
