Aria's POV
"Ariaaaaa!!!" someone called me.
"Oh, hey, Cas!" I responded. It's still early and our classes haven't started yet.
"Do you have notes? For chemistry, to be exact. I heard from other students that Mr. Carson will give a quiz later. Oh, I didn't even listen to him during his discussion. It's boring, you know? Please tell me your notes were complete." Cas exclaimed.
"Hey, hey, calm down. Yes, I have my notes, and they were complete. Here, I don't need it; I studied last night, so you can use it until Mr. Carson's time." I gave her my notebook.
"OMG, thank you so so much, Aria. You're my guardian angel!" she exclaimed and hugged me to show her gratitude.
It's not new to me. Every day, my classmates ask for my notes; others ask for a guide just for me to explain the recent lessons our instructors gave us. Kinda tiring, of course; it's not my responsibility to teach them what our instructors taught us, but yeah, I've got to do this for the sake of a good reputation.
"Knock, knock!" someone's at the door of our room. I don't know her.
"Is Aria Thompson here?" she continued.
I just raised my hand; I don't want to speak.
"Mr. Carson's looking for you; he's at his office." she said.
I followed her. I guess it's another responsibility. Either he's not able to attend our class later, or I have to help him with chem papers.
"Ms. Thompson! I'm sorry for disturbing you. The school needs a representative for the chemistry fair next month. Are you available?" he said.
Well, I saw that coming; of course I have to accept it.
"Sure, Sir. What are the things I should do?" I asked; I have to prepare; I don't want to fail this.
"All you have to do is study, Ms. Thompson. We are to attend the fair, and you'll be our representative for the quiz bee." he said. "You might as well consider studying the most advanced lessons so that we'll have our advantage." he continued.
"No worries, Sir." I answered. I guess I have to study later.
I went back to our room and prepared myself for our first class, history. I'm sure Ms. Anderson will randomly call a student to recite or explain something.
The door widely opened, and Ms. Anderson entered. She seems early today; she usually enters our room 10 minutes late.
"Oh, come on, she's too early." Jax exclaimed.
Jax is the kind of student who usually doesn't care about studying yet can pass every subject. I'm not saying that he's smart; all he does is cheat.
"I heard that, Mr. Skyle, are you complaining?" Ms. Anderson said.
Jax, on the other hand, remained unbothered; he doesn't care at all.
"Well, class, I'm not able to have a discussion today; however, I have announcements. I got the results from the recent exams. Obviously, we have Ms. Thompson as our highest scorer. Give her a round of applause, please." she announced.
Everyone clapped; some were genuine, some were just doing it to obey.
"Another thing is that we will have a transferee. Well, he'll not be here for a while. We're gonna meet him by next week. That's all, class; I have to go, Ms. Thompson; as the class president, please keep the class in order." she then proceeds to go out of our room.
Ms. Anderson serves as our class adviser. It's the first time that she's not able to discuss the lesson. She didn't tell us why, but I guess it's because the new schoolmaster just arrived. They have to gather and talk about the possible changes for the school.
"Are you nervous about the new dude?" Cas asked me.
"Why would I? Is he a threat? No." I answered.
I'm not curious on who he was, as long as he can't take away my title, I'll remain calm.
