Cerion's POV

I'm so tired of acting like a jerk in front of her. But I have to do it, not because I want to make fun of her or piss her off.

"Why'd you lie to me earlier?" I broke the silence. She said that she's going home, yet she's in the review session earlier.

"First of all, who are you to know where I'm about to go?" Aria said. She has a point, though.

"Fair enough. Where's your home, by the way?" I asked.

"Arwood Village." she answered in a cold tone.

"Not to freak you out, but we live in the same village." I said, just to break the awkwardness.

"I didn't ask, but fine." she said.

"Chill, Ria, just sharing, you know? You don't have to be rude, geez." I said. This girl just won't stop being cold.

"After acting like a jerk in front of me? Really?" she said.

"Hey, hey, calm down. I'm sorry, okay?" I said. "By the way, here, take this." I added. I handed over a bracelet. I made those last night.

"What's this?" she asked.

"Bracelet, obviously? Are you blind? Just kidding, Ria." I said jokingly.

"Thank you. But what is this for?" she asked.

"Just take it, okay? Is this your home?" I pointed the house in front of us.

"Yes, thank you for taking me here." she thanked me and went out of my car, waving goodbye with her pretty smile.

I drove off as she enters their home. I still can't understand myself. After annoying her for days now, here I am, taking her home. Worried that something might happen if she's alone, walking or riding a cab at night. I don't think I can let her be alone and not worry about her.

I went straight home; Mum must be worried about me.

Mum: We are you, Io? I'm worried sick, please respond to me, dear.

Her messages were the same. I know she's worried if she messaged me the same thing over and over again. My phone received 20+ notifications, which consist of calls and messages from her. I hurried, as I don't want her to worry that much.

Ting!

A notification? I thought I'd already sent Mum a message saying that I'm on my way home. I can already see our gate; I was just some blocks away from home as we live in the same village as Aria.

Aria: Thank you for bringing me home. I really appreciated it, Io. Stay safe!

It's from Aria. How'd she get my number? I haven't given it to her, in fact, I'm just planning to give it to her. I'm already in front of our house.

Beep-beep!

"I'M HOME!! OPEN THE GATE, PLEASE!" I shouted; I hope I didn't wake my neighbours up. I saw my younger sister, Thena.

"Too late, bro, Mum's so worried." Thena said, trying to scare me. I parked my car and went straight to the living room, where Mum's waiting.

"Mum, I'm home. Don't worry, I was late because of the review session for the quiz bee. And I took her home." I said, assuring her that I didn't go to bars just like what she feared.
