The next few days at the office took a darker turn. Rumors began swirling about some sensitive company documents that had gone missing. Tensions were already high due to Mia's inappropriate behavior, but this new issue made everything worse.
Jungkook had been dealing with the stress of his breakup with Taehyung and hadn't been as focused on work as usual. One afternoon, Jeonghan entered Jungkook's office, his face serious.
"Jungkook, we have a bigger problem," Jeonghan said, laying a folder on the desk. "I’ve been looking into the missing documents, and I think Mia’s involved."
Jungkook looked up, startled. "Mia? What do you mean?"
Jeonghan opened the folder, revealing surveillance photos and transaction reports. "I dug into her office behavior, and I found some discrepancies in her access logs. She’s been accessing files she has no business touching. But that’s not all... There’s a trail of money missing from the company accounts. It looks like she’s been transferring funds for personal gain."
Jungkook’s eyes darkened as he flipped through the files. "I can't believe..."
"It gets worse," Jeonghan added grimly. "I’ve also heard whispers from some of the male employees. Mia’s been getting… close to them. She’s sleeping with them, likely for leverage or favors. This is beyond unacceptable. We need to act fast."
Jungkook clenched his fists, his frustration bubbling over. "I should’ve seen this coming. I let her stay around far too long. I think we got a solid reason to kick her out."
Later that evening, Jungkook arranged a private meeting with his father.
"I need to talk to you about Mia," Jungkook began. He slid the folder across the table. His father frowned as he flipped through the documents.
"These are serious allegations, Jungkook. If what you're saying is true, we have no choice but to terminate her immediately—and pursue legal action. This will be a huge scandal."
"I don’t care about the scandal anymore," Jungkook said, his voice cold. "She’s crossed a line. This has gone beyond her trying to get between me and Taehyung. She’s threatening the company."
His father sighed heavily. "I trusted her mother, and I let that blind me. Take the necessary steps."
The next day, Jeonghan and Jungkook confronted Mia in his office. Jeonghan sat calmly across from her, his eyes sharp as he observed her. Jungkook, however, was barely keeping his anger in check.
"Mia, we need to talk," Jungkook said, his voice icy.
Mia looked between the two, a smirk playing on her lips. "What’s this about?"
Jungkook didn’t waste time. He slammed the folder on the table. "These are records of your misconduct. Accessing files, stealing company money, sleeping with employees to manipulate them. Did you really think you could get away with this?"
Mia’s smile faltered for the first time. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."
"Cut the act," Jeonghan snapped. "We have all the evidence we need. The only thing left to decide is whether you’ll be arrested quietly, or we’ll make this a public scandal."
Mia’s face paled. She glanced between the two men, realizing she was cornered. "You wouldn’t…"
"Try me," Jungkook said, his tone deadly. "You’ve caused nothing but problems, and you’ve crossed every line possible. This is over. You’re fired, and you’ll be hearing from our lawyers."
Meanwhile, Seungchol had been trying to rebuild his relationship with Jeonghan. After the confrontation with Mia, Jeonghan was still on edge, and it showed in their interactions. One evening, Seungchol waited for Jeonghan in the break room after hours, nervous but determined to set things right.
When Jeonghan walked in, Seungchol stood up. "Jeonghan, how do you feel now?"
Jeonghan sighed "It was so hectic, even though I caused so much damage, at least Mia is out. "
"Don't worry everything will be fine." Seungchol started, stepping closer. "And I’ve been thinking about us—that I didn't officially ask you out till now"
Jeonghan looked into his eyes, the tension between them palpable.
"Will you be my boyfriend?" Seungchol said, his voice softening. "I was scared of my feelings. But now, I know I want you. For real." He took Jeonghan’s hand gently. "Please give me another chance."
Jeonghan studied him for a moment before pulling him in for a soft kiss, lingering on his lips. "You’d better mean it this time."
Seungchol smiled, his heart pounding. "I do."
The fallout from Mia’s dismissal was swift. The company worked hard to cover up the scandal, and Jungkook found himself leaning more on Jeonghan and Seungchol for support.
One night, after work, Jungkook sat in his office, staring out the window. His mind wandered to Taehyung—he still missed him deeply. Jeonghan walked in, sensing his boss's mood.
"Still thinking about Taehyung?" Jeonghan asked softly.
Jungkook sighed. "I wish I could fix things. Mia caused so much damage between us."
Jeonghan gave him a small smile. "You’ll get him back. You just need to show him how much he means to you."
"I hope you're right," Jungkook muttered, staring down at his phone, contemplating sending a message to Taehyung.
The storm between them might not have passed, but the clouds were beginning to clear. And with Mia gone, perhaps there was hope for the future after all.
