The never ending purge

The Run-Down Store

Out steps echoed in the silent city, each corner only unveiling more silence, after walking for what seemed like forever, the small, run down store came in their sights, Adelia raised an eyebrow, "Aiden you did not say it was gonna be smaller than my rock collection" I chuckled and Smith started walking inside "c-can I look aswell?" Smith asks me, I agree, I don't see any reason not to, after all. He smiled and ran into the store

He stood in the darkness of the store, the silence engulfing him, finally, he reached the counter and opened the cash register, "looks like someone forgot to lock their registers" then, a draw under the register caught his eye, he slowly peeked inside and his heart jumped when he saw a gun lying inside, he quickly snatched it and put it in his pocket.

Finally, we walk in, Adelia looks at Smith suspiciously while I search the food aisle, great, it's all gone, crap... I sigh and prepare to leave when another door by the back of the store catches my eye, it was locked by some code... "Hey guys? Can you come check this out? There might be something in the storage room" Smith rushed over, followed by Adelia and then Matt (the other boys name) Adelia nodded, "Yeah, actually, we probably could break through, but we need a really heavy object, got that?" I nod, prepared to smash the door, I walk away I'm search of a heavy object.

I search first the medical section, then the outdoor kits, then the pet food, I smile widely as my eyes lay upon the pet food, maybe this would do it? I try to pick up the pet food, I slowly take steps to the door, the heaviness of the food barreling through my arms, finally, after what seems like an eternity, I arrive at the door, I look at Adelia and nod, "how are we gonna do this?" I ask while taking a slow breather against a wall

"Well Smith told me that heavy objects can open locked doors if you push hard enough"
I facepalm, was she really this stupid?? I sigh, "yknow what, I'm not staying for those useless attempts, shout me over I'd you get through" I roll my eyes and walk away, suddenly, the door swings open and from the other side stands 5 people in store uniforms, Adelia was pressed against the floor, she quickly stands and ducks behind a cart, "Who the fu-" I was cut off by Matt who shouted, "Get behind something!" I dived behind the counter and drew my gun, holding it up, sweat trickles down my face, "come onnnn, come on out, I won't hurt you, I just wanna talk like a couple civilised citizens" I don't believe him, I stay in my place, suddenly, Matt jumped out from behind the cart he was hiding behind and he tackled the leader, I quickly got out from my hiding spot and shot one of them in the chest, they fell and dragged themselves into the storage room, my gun holds high, I point it at the leader and prepare to shoot, BANG, the bullet goes straight through Matts head, my eyes widened and I give them a glare, "whe do you think you are?" I steam, and then, I pounce at the leader, I strangle him against a wall, I dropped him and his lifeless body lay dead against the wall, I smile and draw my gun, Adelia manages to kill two of them with her knife she got from my kitchen around an hour ago, the last man stares up at me with regret in his eyes " i-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you... please... let me live" his voice was sincere, but did I care? No, he killed Matt, now ill kill him, BANG, the 6 dead bodies lay around the store, all in different positions, but all in a pool of blood, I sit in a cart that one of the men threw at us and I sighed...
