I've always been a well-rounded person... or... as far as I can tell... Adelia always tells me to do bad things, but she's way different to me, I'm not like her... she always teases me about 'being a wuss' or 'being a crybaby' like, excuse me, I don't want to pee on a police car! Anyway... to the story...
I was in my small apartment with Adelia watching TV like we usually do, I was flicking through some pointless news programs when my TV suddenly froze, a blue screen popped up and it spoke...
"Attention, this is not a drill, repeat, this is not a drill, the annual purge has begun, all laws are officially lifted for the next 24 hou-"
It froze, completely gave in, Adelia looked at me with a panicked glare, and she shivered, "Uh.... so... is that the purge?" I slowly nodded, the realisation slowly fading in, I started shaking in fear, I slowly stood, walking to be kitchen, reaching into the drawer and pulling out the pistol I always had for occasions like this... suddenly, "Wait! Wait, it's back on! Come look!" Adelia shouted, I bolted into my living room
"New news, the government has spoken a few minutes ago and has stated, 'the purge is a time to remember, and I believe that we should make that remembrance last longer than just a day, the annual purge will now be daily, the next century of our world is now declared a purge, for most of you, this is terrifying, however for people who are excited, you should be' so, in result to his statement, the purge, for most of you, will be everlasting, and only many few shall survive this century"
I drop to my knees and stare at the screen in shock... a... a century? That's too long! This can't be allowed! I look at Adelia, who looks in a complete panic attack now, and run to hug her, we cry in eachothers arms, after a good 10 minute cry, I stand and look down
"Well... guess we gotta be mature adults and murder people..." Adelia nods slowly and pulls out the gun she always keeps in her purse, "And I'm ready for all that crap..."
