"You were right. You actually are a better kisser."
A flush crept up Heeseung's neck, a blush that mirrored Sunghoon's earlier reaction.
The sudden intimacy, the unexpected depth of their connection, left them both slightly breathless and a bit flustered.
Sunghoon took a deep breath and cleared his throat, the sound echoing in the quiet hallway.
"So..."
He started, a slight tremor in his voice betraying his inner turmoil. Heeseung chuckled softly, a nervous giggle that eased the tension lingering between them.
"Yeah, so..."
He mirrored Sunghoon's actions, his fingers fidgeting with the hem of his shirt, looking down.
"That was... unexpected."
"Yeah, it was. I... I didn't think I'd ever do that."
"Me neither."
Heeseung whispered, his eyes darting away, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"But... it was nice."
"Really?"
Sunghoon asked, hope blossoming in his chest. He was really self-concious, because of his past relationships.
"Really."
Heeseung confirmed, his gaze finding Sunghoon's again. Sunghoon's eyes looked so bright, that they could light up the whole room.
"It was actually... really nice."
A wave of relief washed over Sunghoon. The fear that he had somehow ruined something precious, something fragile, dissipated.
Heeseung's reaction was a reassurance, a soft melody of acceptance playing in his heart.
"So, how do we... you know, make this less awkward?"
Sunghoon laughed, the sound light and joyous. He looked away, trying to think of something, but he couldn't.
"I have no idea. Perhaps we could pretend it didn't happen?"
"No... Let's just... Yeah, nevermind."
They settled onto the plush couch, the familiar comfort of their shared space offering a temporary respite from the whirlwind of emotions.
Sunghoon picked a horror movie, a genre he had started to enjoy, hoping it would provide a distraction.
But soon, he found himself gripping the blanket tightly, his knuckles turning white. The jump scares, the eerie music, every chilling scene sent a shiver down his spine.
As the horror escalated, Sunghoon's bravery seemed to evaporate. He felt a sudden wave of fear wash over him, his heart pounding in his chest like a drum solo gone wrong. He couldn't take it anymore.
He immediately scrambled closer to Heeseung, burying his face in the crook of his neck, clinging to him like a lifeline.
He was shaking, a soft whimper escaping his lips as his body fought against the overwhelming fear.
Heeseung felt a jolt of surprise, followed quickly by a flutter of affection and amusement. Sunghoon's hug was tight, almost desperate, but there was a vulnerability to it that tugged at Heeseung's heartstrings.
Butterflies erupted in his stomach, a delightful sensation he hadn't expected. He couldn't help but giggle softly, the sound muffled against Sunghoon's hair.
He wrapped his arms around Sunghoon, pulling him closer, a comforting warmth spreading through the younger boy's body.
"Shhh, it's just a movie. It's alright. You're safe, I'm holding you."
Heeseung murmured, soothingly stroking Sunghoon's hair. The younger snuggled further into Heeseung's embrace, his face still hidden against his neck.
He continued to tremble, his face hidden against Heeseung's neck, but he slowly started to relax under Heeseung's gentle touch.
He felt safe, enveloped by Heeseung's warmth and comforting scent. It was a feeling so unfamiliar, yet so soothing, that he clung to it with surprising desperation.
And although the horror movie continued playing, all Heeseung could focus on was Sunghoon.
He could feel Sunghoon's rapid heartbeat against him, and he tried his best to calm him down with soft words and gentle touches. The butterflies in his stomach were a constant reminder of how much he cared for Sunghoon.
Heeseung held him close, enjoying the rare sight of the usually stoic Sunghoon so completely vulnerable and dependent on him.
It was endearing, heartwarming, and a little intoxicating. He knew this was a moment they would both remember.
As his heart continued its erratic rhythm from the previous kiss, he felt a strange sense of contentment, a soft smile gracing his lips as he gently rocked them back and forth, humming a soothing melody to calm Sunghoon.
The unexpected kiss, the shared vulnerability, and now this. Sunghoon clinging to him like a frightened child.
It was a whirlwind of emotions for Heeseung, a delightful chaos that he found himself strangely drawn to. He had never felt this way about anyone before.
Sunghoon remained nestled against Heeseung, his body slowly relaxing under the warmth of the older boy's embrace.
The horror movie continued its onslaught of scares, but it was just background noise now.
All that mattered was the soft thump of Sunghoon's heart against his chest, the faint scent of his shampoo, the way his hair tickled Heeseung's neck with every slight movement.
Heeseung continued to hum, a simple tune that seemed to resonate with the calm he was trying to instill in Sunghoon.
He found himself mesmerized by the younger boy's vulnerability, a stark contrast to the usually composed and cool Sunghoon he knew. It was endearing, heartwarming, and a little bit thrilling.
After a while, Sunghoon's breaths evened out, his trembling subsided. He slowly lifted his head, his eyes wide and a bit dazed.
He looked at Heeseung, his cheeks flushed, his eyes reflecting a mixture of embarrassment and gratitude.
"I... I'm sorry. I'm being ridiculous."
Sunghoon mumbled, his voice barely above a whisper, as Heeseung chuckled softly.
"Don't apologize. It's okay to be scared at times. And besides, you were incredibly cute."
A faint blush crept back onto Sunghoon's cheeks. He looked away, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
The awkwardness from earlier seemed to have dissipated, replaced by a comfortable silence filled with warmth and unspoken feelings.
The remainder of the movie passed in a haze of gentle touches and quiet conversations.
Heeseung would occasionally steal glances at Sunghoon, marveling at the way his features softened when he wasn't trying to maintain his cool facade.
Sunghoon, in turn, would lean into Heeseung's side, seeking the warmth of his presence.
When the credits finally rolled, the silence that followed was comfortable. A comfortable silence that spoke volumes.
