I turned to face the man, only then realizing that the owner of the cafe and Sylus had been standing a few centimeters away from me. "The Ternary Legend?"

"What's that?" I eyed the short man with an expectant look.

"The dragon from the fountain; it broke through its vessel. People here call it the Ternary Legend."

"Damn it. I didn't bring any weapon," I glanced at Sylus with an annoyed expression, instead he simply smiled.

"Kasim," Sylus glanced at the short man. "Do you still keep the gift I gave you?"

"Of course," the owner hastily ran behind the counter. He reappeared seconds later with a wooden chest in his arms, the chest itself nearly the size of his own body. He opened the chest, revealing a pair of customized colt anaconda; it was black all over, save for the crimson leather grip. The man took the revolvers out of its confinement, extending the guns out for us to take.

Sylus extended his hand to take a revolver. "I'll give you a brand new one, in case this one breaks," he glanced at me, beckoning for me to take the other one.

Walking closer to the owner, I grabbed the other revolver, my hand brushing slightly against Kasim's calloused palm. With a warm smile, he nodded at both of us. "Don't worry, abi. Our friendship is a gift I'll cherish till the end of time."

Flashing a friendly smile in return, I turned to walk out the door with Sylus following behind. By the time we stepped out of the cafe, the narrow street was already devoid of life. Luckily, the so-called Ternary Legend stayed by the foundation, destroying the landmark that once held it captive. We ran in haste, coming face to face with the pristine white dragon; it was nearly triple my height, screeching as its talons scratched aimlessly in search of a prey.

As we stopped a few meters away from it's gigantic figure, it's head tilted down, locking eyes with its magenta eyes. A screech pierced the silent air, the fluctuation of the metaflux transported us to it's protofield. The protofield was that of a traditional village, with a grassy plain and paved road leading out to a maple forest. Leaves of yellows and oranges flew, littering the ground in a warm hue.

The dragon threw a flash of purple towards my way, which I instinctively dodged. The bundle of lightning hit the ground, sending specks of dirt flying in the air, leaving a circular hole in its wake. Glancing around, I tried to pinpoint where Sylus was, but to my surprise, the man(iac) was already in a face off with the dragon; shooting it whenever it was at a distance while going into melee combat mode whenever it moved close to him.

When I tell you this man is unstoppable, he's literally unstoppable.

"Now's a good time to show off, sweetie," Sylus yelled out, noticing that I was gaping at him from a distance.

With a small chuckle, I ran closer towards the dragon, all the while aiming the revolver at its snout. Shooting a few rounds of bullets, I leapt back as its talon swiped at the ground, scratching a strand of my hair. While I was kneeling on the ground, regaining my composure from the sudden jump, the dragon roared, throwing yet another bundle of lightning my way. Rolling away to safety, the bundle of lightning hit my wrist, my body jolting from the high current. It stunned me for a moment, but Sylus suddenly appeared in front of me, a shroud of black mist trailing behind him.

"You're too slow," a shroud of black mist protected us from an incoming attack before dissipating.

"It's moving at lightning speed," I stood up, shooting a few more rounds at the dragon's snout, gaining its attention.

"Let's call it Lightning McQueen," Sylus joked to which I snorted at.

"By the way," something dawned upon me as Sylus stood by my side, aiming his shots at the dragon's eye. "Ternary is like a synonym to three, right? Why's it called that?"
