The air in the Celestial Realm was thick with tension as Seraphine, Azrael, and Tarian navigated the winding paths toward the Council’s hidden chambers.
The crystalline architecture of the realm sparkled in the fading light, but the beauty felt overshadowed by the imminent danger they faced.
As they walked, the whispers of the council echoed in Seraphine’s mind, reminding her of the precarious balance they were attempting to maintain.
“We need to speak with those who might still support us,” Tarian said, breaking the silence. “There are a few council members who haven’t succumbed to fear. They see the value in your strength, Azrael.”
Azrael nodded, his molten eyes fixed ahead. “Where do we find them?”
Tarian paused, glancing back at Seraphine and Azrael. “There’s a secluded alcove, hidden away from prying eyes. It’s where some of the council members meet to discuss matters away from the main chambers. If we’re careful, we can approach them without raising suspicion.”
“Let’s move quickly then,” Seraphine urged, her heart racing at the thought of gathering allies. She felt the weight of the Celestial Realm pressing down on her — one wrong move could spell disaster. “Every moment we waste brings us closer to the darkness that’s rising.”
As they made their way through the ethereal corridors, the vibrant colors of the realm began to dim, casting long shadows around them. Seraphine could feel the shift in energy; something was indeed stirring.
The Abyss was not dormant, and the council’s mistrust of Azrael only heightened her anxiety.
They reached the alcove — a circular chamber adorned with intricate murals depicting the history of the Celestial Realm.
The colors shimmered under the soft glow of celestial light, creating an almost hypnotic effect. Tarian led the way, motioning for them to remain silent.
Inside, two council members were seated, their expressions a mix of concern and determination. Seraphine recognized Tyra, a powerful healer known for her wisdom and compassion. Beside her was Eldrin, a fierce warrior whose loyalty to the realm had never wavered.
They hadn't been in the previous meetings they had with the other council members.
“Tyra, Eldrin,” Tarian greeted them, his voice barely above a whisper. “We need your help.”
Tyra’s blue eyes widened as she took in Azrael’s presence. “You brought him here?” Her tone was wary, but curiosity sparked in her gaze.
“Yes,” Tarian replied firmly. “We don’t have time for doubt. The Abyss is rising, and Azrael is key to understanding the threat we face.”
Eldrin crossed his arms, his expression skeptical. “You expect us to believe that? He’s a fallen angel. His presence here could bring disaster upon us.”
“Not if we unite,” Seraphine interjected, stepping forward. “I know the risks, but we can’t ignore the truth. The Abyss is alive, and it’s planning something. We need to act before it’s too late.”
Tyra exchanged glances with Eldrin, her brow furrowed in thought. “What do you propose?”
Azrael, feeling the tension, took a step forward. “I understand your fear, but I am not the enemy. My past may be stained, but I fight for this realm now. If we do not join forces, we will be overrun by the darkness. I know the Abyss — its tactics and its strengths. This knowledge could be our greatest weapon.”
Eldrin’s gaze softened slightly as he studied Azrael. “If what you say is true, we may not have much time left. But how can we trust you?”
“Trust is built through actions, not words,” Seraphine replied. “Let us work together. We’ll confront the Abyss and any who would stand in our way.”
