"Ccino, don't delve into it." Nightmare let out a sigh, shaking his skull before taking a sip of his coffee. "I'm warning you of this because I want you to stay out of it; stay as far away as possible, for your own sake."

"You're doing something in my AU, and you don't expect me to be a little curious about it?" Ccino asked. "What could the museum possibly have that would interest you? There isn't anything there that you can't find in a different AU."

"..Just stay out of it, Ccino. You're only getting this warning because you are my friend, and if you stick your nose into it, I won't be coming to bail you out."

Thursday: the day of..whatever Nightmare was planning. Ccino couldn't help himself; he went to the museum, bought a ticket for entry, and wandered around the exhibits - completely legally, of course. Nightmare was just overreacting; Ccino wouldn't get wrapped up in anything! For about an hour, Ccino explored the museum, and afterwards, he left! Nothing had happened, and Ccino was fine; he'd learned some things about his in-universe history, enjoyed some art, and ultimately had a good day off from work - all was well. After his visit ended, he went home and continued his day before going to bed, and having a good night's rest. He hadn't seen anything at the museum, either; maybe Nightmare had decided not to do anything. Ccino was sure that the two would laugh about it during the dark guardian's next visit to his humble coffee shop, and that would be the end of it.

The next morning, Ccino woke up and started to open up his shop, as per usual. He fed the cats, started baking some pastries, and went through the rest of his normal daily routine while humming a lighthearted tune. At eight o'clock, he opened up shop, and an hour later, a couple policemen came in; Ccino thought nothing of it, though - it wasn't uncommon for officers to stop in for a cup of coffee every so often.

"Good morning!" Ccino greeted. "Meow may I help you?"

"Is your name Sans?" One of the officers inquired.

"Um, it was, but I changed it a couple years ago..why do you ask?"

"Are you aware that four monsters were sighted in the city museum yesterday committing a crime?"

"No?" Ccino replied. "What crime?"

"That's classified information."

"..Okay, then? I wasn't aware of that; why are you asking me?"

"Eyewitnesses reported seeing at least one skeleton present; you are the only registered skeleton among monsterkind."

..Ccino was starting to have some regrets.

"I see." He nodded slowly.

"We have footage of you entering the museum before the crime was committed." The other officer informed. "What do you have to say about that?"

"I went to the museum to look around on my day off because I wanted a change of pace." Ccino replied. "I didn't do anything but look at the exhibits. If the museum has interior camera, you'd only see me walking around and looking at the exhibits, and that's all."

"..For your sake, I hope you're right, but we're still going to place you under arrest until we can prove that claim."

"What?" Ccino's eyelights widened. "But you can't do that! What about my cats? I don't have anyone else here to take care of them!"

"We'll take care of it; you have to come with us."

Ccino lamented his existence as he was handcuffed and led outside, and he could only envision Nightmare's inevitable disappointed expression.

He really should have listened.
