Being trapped in a crumbling building in a zombie-apocalypse-themed universe had not been on Killer's itinerary for the day, and he was sure that Blue hadn't planned for this, either. Nightmare had ordered an attack on this AU as a test to see if zombies could offer the same negativity that everyone else did when attacked, and Killer, as of now, had no clue as to the result. The buildings of this world had been abandoned for years by now, and nature had been taking over for a while; it was only expected that they would start to be a bit fragile, especially in the middle of a literal attack. Perhaps using explosives on unstable buildings while one was inside those buildings wasn't the best idea; Killer would be sure to bring it up at the gang's next strategical meeting. But that wasn't the point; the point was that this building was filled with zombies (that "may or may not have been able to infect monsters"? Who did the recon on this one?), and it was coming down.
"Oh, this is just great!" Blue stomped a foot down, before tensing as the floor shuddered beneath him. "This is your fault!"
"No, it was that stupid artist's fault!" Killer huffed, before deciding to put aside his typical demeanor in favor or getting out of here. "So..how's jumping out a window sound to you?"
"We're twenty stories up, Killer!"
"And we have giant magical skulls that can take us down safely?"
"The use of magic in this unstable environment could bring this place down! And everyone else is down there! I'm not going to risk Dream and Ink!"
"..Noted." Killer didn't think Nightmare would take a building collapsing onto everyone very well..
"Truce until we get out of here?"
"Wasn't that what we were already doing?"
"Fair enough - let's get down."
Killer wished he could just use his blaster to fly down, but Blue was right; magic use in this building could have destabilized everything through some scientific stuff that Cross or Dust would have known all about. Killer would have to ask them later. For now, he and Blue would have to get past all the zombies in this building to get down..yay. Killer wished Ink hadn't used his stupid super-strength to catapult him up to nearly the top of this building..right as his teammates had been setting the explosives at the bottom..
"Why are you up here, anyway?" Killer inquired. "Ink didn't grand slam you up here..did he?"
"Dream portaled me up to make sure you wouldn't 'disturb the local population.'" Blue sighed.
"..The local population is zombies."
"I know; Dream doesn't understand zombies yet. Let's just get out of here.."
"Whatever you say!"
Killer gripped his knife, and Blue looked around before tearing a leg off of a chair in the room; there were perks to bringing physical weapons everywhere, certainly (Killer wouldn't be caught dead wielding a chair leg unless he had a darn good reason)! But it was time to start getting out of this place, and there was only one best way to do it!
"Why did you kick the door down?!" Blue panicked. "Now all the zombies know we're here!"
"Yeah!" Killer smirked. "Might as well give them a fighting chance, eh?"
"You're crazy!"
"Guilty as charged!"
The local zombies, now aware of Killer and Blue's presence, began to come closer to the source of the noise, and a few found the floor first, being met with decapitation from Killer and..whacks from a chair leg from Blue. Killer opted not to say anything right now, but he would definitely make a mental note to tease the other about this for the rest of eternity. Fighting zombified humans was..a little less exciting than tormenting normal people - normal people didn't flail their arms and bodies at their attackers. The zombies practically threw themselves onto Killer's blade, and while Killer did enjoy stabbing people, he preferred those people to run away from him if they weren't going to put up a fight. Blue, on the other hand, seemed to be fighting for his life without a surefire way of getting rid of the zombies; the most he could really do was push them down the stairs to delay them a little.
"I'm bored." Killer decided. "Where's the emergency exit?"
"Emergen- yes!" Blue panted, nodding and grinning as if Killer had just presented the greatest idea possible at the time. "There should be an emergency exit! Where would it be?"
"Probably right there." Killer's blade decapitated another zombie on its way to point at a clearly-marked emergency exit door.
"Let's go!"
Blue ran for the door, while Killer strolled behind; there was really no need to stumble blindly through this. If the building started to go down for real, teleporting out was an option, and it was a good one. Blue scurried down the stairs on the side of the building, and Killer took his time getting down, making sure not to trip over any missing stairs-
Well, Blue was down; Killer was sure that he had enjoyed that great fall.
Once Killer was down safely, he rejoined his team a few streets over, continuing the battle he had been so rudely cast from before.
"Where's Blue?" Dream asked, glaring upon Killer's return.
"Oh, he tripped from fifteen stories up, I think - he probably needs an ambulance, or something." Killer snorted.
"He what?!" Dream screeched, before grabbing Ink's scarf and starting to drag his teammate away.
"Hey!" Ink pouted. "We were winning!"
"Blue's hurt!"
"That's not my problem!" Ink paused. "Is it?"
"Yes!"
