it was the next day the sun glowed through the blinds lucy wakes up on the floor she can't hide it anymore the bruises were too dark; the concealer couldn't cover anything not anymore and the invisible scar is still stuck in her head Lucy though to herself
L- I'm going to tell Tim on patrol I'm so glad Chris is at work
Lucy gets up from the bloody bathroom floor and gets ready she tried to apply the foundation to her battered, discolored skin softly as she got ready for the day her whole body was aching and sore you couldn't hide it anymore Lucy got changed into some gym wear hey body was so skinny she was basically skin and bones as she tied her hair into a messy bun she left her apartment.
she arrives at the station and spots Tim
L- hey Tim
T- hey lucy you, okay?
L- u-uh not really can I talk to you?
T- yeah of course
Tim and lucy walked over to Tims truck and sat in the front 2 seats
T- what's going on lucy?
L- you promise you won't tell anyone?
T- it depends on what you tell me luce
L- i-i don't feel safe at home
T- is this about the voice mail you sent me? lucy what happened?
L- y-yeah, I guess it is, Chris, he gets really dunk sometimes
T- Lucy what happened?
L- Chris, he beats me last night and every night before when you came over last night, he knocked me out and dragged me to the bathroom when he heard the nock on the door. Tim, I don't know how much I can do this I relapsed after 8 years
Lucy said with tears rolling down her face and the look of comfort in Tims blue eyes
T- oh luce come here
Tim said hugging lucy
T- I have to tell grey, Lopez and harper, okay? we're going to help you, and you can stay at mine it's not safe there right now
as they get out of the car Angela saw lucy and Tim and walked up to them she could sense somethings wrong as they all head in to roll call and sit down and grey starts talking
G- alright so night shift did their jobs for once last night so go out there and find some crime but Chen, you're with Lopez and harper
L- Alright
most of the people in policed uniforms leave the packed roll call room leaving Lucy, Angela and Nyla.
L- I will go get the war bags
N- yeah, I will go get some cases we can do on the road
A- okay i will be in the shop
a few moments later lucy comes out of the station with the war bags and long guns, lucy did this slowly due to her bruises
N- you okay luce?
Nyla says with worry in her voice
L- mhm I'm fine
lucy says not wanting to talk about her pain and why it happens this always sends a pang in Lucy's heart she wants to tell them, but she doesn't know how or what to say i mean she already told Tim that took some weight off her shoulders, but Lucy is worried what Chris would do next if he figured it out that lucy told someone
N- okay let's go
while on patrol it was mostly quiet and not a lot of calls it was nice having some peace and quiet, Angela and Nyla worked on cases while lucy looked out the windows and also trying to help
L- do we think he did it?
A- i mean he's one of our suspects we should interview him though see what he has to say
N- his house is just up here actually
L- great let's stop by and ask
they drive up to man's house and knock on the door
A- SIR WE HAVE SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT THE KARRA WINTERS CASE
the guy never responded but he did come out and open the door
(RG means random guy)
RG- what do you want to know?
N- we want no know everything you know about Karra winter we believe you were dating her at the time?
RG- yeah um her parents hated her um we were dating for around 8 months, but I wouldn't kill her we just had a minor argument over dinner
A- we never said she was murdered sir?
L- GUN!
the guy starts shooting an AR 15 at the trio striking lucy in the leg
L- AH
lucy yelps in pain falling to the unhealthy grass the guy runs out to the back yard to jump the fence
N- LUCY! I need a RA for an injured officer and back up code 3 for a fleeing suspect. Nyla says over the radio
N- lucy stay here until the ambulance arrives were going after him
L- go!
lucy says wanting Angela and Nyla to catch the guy who shot her and killed Karra winter. Nyla and Angela run off chasing after the fleeing suspect. back up and an ambulance arrives with lucy bailey jumps out
B- what happened lucy?!
L- i got shot!
