Everyone faces their own challenge, Lucas facing against Jason while trying to protect Max who still fought against Vecna. Almost being taken by him before Eleven intervenes and helps. Erica trying to fight the bully on her. Dustin trying to get back to Eddie, knowing the boy was willing to do anything at this point to make sure the girl was okay. The older teens venture in the house, the vines soon becoming too much for them.
"Come get me you sons of bitches!" Eddie yells his taunts to the bats following him, his heart not wanting to give up on the girl but his soul was shattering the longer he went without seeing her. Dustin fights on the other side, placing a chair and throwing himself into the other side. Eddie bikes fast, his pace slowly just enough for a bat to catch up and knock him off his bike. Eddie crashes onto the ground, picking himself up and continuing on foot. He falters as he gazes around, his heart saddening as he rethinks his life choices. He felt a lot of guilt at that moment, he felt guilt when he ran after Chrissy.. And he's felt guilty every waking moment knowing he didn't do anything to help Erin when she needed it.. He made a choice, to fight inside of running, ignoring. He turns back to face the demobats, raising his weapon. This garners the attention of a bat, who charges at the boy which invokes the others to do the same. Eddie prepares himself, holding out his make-shift shield to brace himself.
Eddie fights off the bats, swinging his shield around to inflict damage and to try and protect himself. One after another he keeps them back, until he can't anymore. One grabs hold of his neck using its disgusting tail, strangling him while trying to get him to the ground. Dustin yells from a distance as his lame leg prevents him from moving any faster, trying to despite this as he sees the older boy being brought down.
"Eddie! Edd-!" He stops his yelling as his eyes divert past the bats ganging up on Eddie, and to the girl rushing through the horde of them. His jaw drops, his pace slowing as he watches the missing girl swing her way through the demobats, a large branch waving around madly as she brings it down on one of the bats holding down Eddie.
"Get! Away from him! You damn- Vermin!" She screeches viciously as she slams the wood down onto the one that had its tail wrapped around his throat, Eddie in shock as he stares up at the girl, not even realizing he was getting his breath back finally. The bats back off briefly from the unexpected foe, shrieking at her as they begin to swarm the pair. Erin eyes them, her chest heaving as she turns around frantically to face them.
"Erin.." Her fight mode falters some, turning back to face Eddie. Her eyes swell with tears, her lips trembling.
"Eddie.." He breathed out shakily, wanting nothing more than to embrace her in that moment. Their moment was cut off, the bats using their distraction to their advantage, one swooping down and going for the girl's already injured leg. She senses what it's doing immediately, screaming as it begins tearing her pathetic bandages, sinking its teeth into her leg following it.
"Erin!" Eddie yells out as he sees the girl go down, the other bats using this to all swarm in, attacking from all sides. Eddie throws himself over the girl, punching the bat that refused to let go of her leg away and shielding her as best he could.
"Eddie? Eddie, what are you doing!? You can't- Stop!" She cries, not even being able to turn back and face him as he starts being assaulted from all sides.
"I'm not losing you again!" She shakes her head, trying to fight him off of her.
"You can't! Eddie, just let me up! We can, we can fight them!" She pleads, one of the bats breaking through his jacket and beginning to gnaw on him. Eddie screams out, Erin's following his.
Elsewhere, Max starts to become Vecna's next victim, Eleven trying everything in her power to prevent that from happening. The friends in the other state helping her along the way to help her fight back stronger. She gains the power she needs, using her friends' words to push herself forward. Lucas gains the upper hand, beating back against Jason until he was out. Max begins to be taken over by Vecan, her limbs snapping as Eleven pushes back with all her might. She sends Vecna off, freeing Max.
