Deuce has always tried to find someone that would match him since he and Cleo didn't work out. But when he runs into Clawdeen's older sister, he realizes that maybe he does have a chance with someone new.

We made everyone feel welcome. Frankie shocked a student. They really shouldn't have gotten a new electrical system. Demi Bouvier introduced herself to us and she formed the Hu/Mon Pride Club with other monsters. We also got the Pride Club buttons. Draculaura, Clawdeen, and Frankie met Ellis. He's another vampire like Draculaura.
"Attention. All students are to report to the Clawditorium for a special assembly immediately after dinner tonight." said the PA system. "On a related note, dinner will include piranha soup. Please eat it. We mean it. Thank you."
Later, I was spending time with Deuce at our secret spot. The fame was exhausting, but I just don't want it to affect me and Claws personally.
"Mm. This is delicious." I said, eating a sandwich.
"I don't know. I think you're just hungry." said Deuce.
"Starving. Ok, there's no time to eat, to think. There's always somebody who needs something."
"Popularity— fun, but exhausting."
"Right? Ok, come on. Hand them over."
"Oh, come on."
"I don't want to turn to stone. Sorry."
"Fine. Fine."
"Mm-hmm." Deuce takes off his glasses and gives them to me.
"Oh. Thank you." I put them on my face.
"You good?"
I cleared my throat. "Good. You look tired."
"Yeah, I've been arguing with my mom a lot lately."
"Gorga whatever thing again?"
"Gorgodium. Yeah."
"Hey, she can't just expect you to wake up and leave school for a whole year. It's not fair."
"It's what gorgons do to come of age, a ritual year to run wild and find yourself, some meditation, some self-reflection, with a lot of running around and terrorizing the countryside."
"See, that doesn't sound like you."
"Yeah, and I keep trying to tell my mom that, but she just— she hates Monster High. She calls it my little cage."
"Well, I, for one, am glad you've decided to stay in your cage."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. But how about a break for everyone?" I said, taking his hat and laughing around him.
The snakes hissed.
"Wow. Thanks." said Deuce.
The spider turns to stone. We both shared a look.
"Uh, I mean— um, this is not a good idea."
"I—" I said, nervously.
"Glasses, please." He said, putting his hat back on his head.
