Shubman's pov:-
I felt a sudden unanticipated strike on the back of my head as I was busy daydreaming regarding my pleasant future with Ishan, fully lost in my own world.
On reluctantly turning around, I was met with the most hardworking employee of my restaurant, glaring directly into my soul.
"Come out of your dreams young master. You are supposed to take the glow board's sign for repairing. Remember?"
As he reminded me of my pending duty I entirely forgot about, I checked my pocket for the car keys and showed him a thumbs up with a guilty smile.
"Thanks for reminding me again Sir."
After ruffling his hair and gaining a frustrated scoff from him, I picked up the cap from the table, wore it before leaving.
"Are you really the owner of this restaurant?"
Abhi taunted after crossing his arms and scoffed again in disbelief while fixing his now ruined hair.
"I have you here for a reason."
I stated calmly fueling his frustration more which resulted him in letting out a dry sarcastic chuckle.
"You haven't changed at all. Have you?"
Upon rubbing his face tiredly, he stated and my thoughts instantly drifted into the memories of school as a kid.
Yeah you guessed it right, we both have been best friends since school.
I have been that backbencher who was pain in every teacher's ass while he was a bright obedient student who never dared to talk back to anyone.
So, our friendship is like a fusion, when an immovable object meets an unstoppable force.
He has always been the only one besides my sister to help me even at my worst time.
That is the main reason why I trust him the most with my whole heart.
"Neither have you."
I stated after adjusting the cap to my comfort with an everlasting smile on my lips.
The tiredness from Abhi's face seems to fade away as his thoughts also migrated back to the good old times.
"Get out now I have actual work to do unlike you."
I heard him spoke after shaking his head and gesturing me to head out of the restaurant.
I fulfilled his demand and finally head out to get the sign board repaired.
Some hours later,
Exiting the shop after they informed that I could collect the sign board tomorrow, I started the engine of my car and thought of driving back to the restaurant.
But something urged in me to go and check up on Ishan as I drove past the location of our first meeting.
While trying to decide, I bit the inside of my cheek and finally turned the car in the direction of his house's street.
It won't be bad to just check up on him. Right?
But what if he says I should have just called him?
Well.....we will worry about it later.
After parking the car, I stood in front of his house still skeptical about ringing the bell.
What if he is resting after classes? I will only disturb him more.
Also, what if he is not at home?
Should I call him in advance to make sure he is here?
What if he thinks I am being too clingy right now?
