Wooyoung quietly made his way down the hall, stopping in front of Yunho's door.
He was expecting to find his friend fast asleep, given the late hour, but as he pushed the door open just a crack, he saw a soft glow from inside the room. Peeking in, he saw Yunho in the center of the room, wide awake and mid-motion, his body moving through a series of fluid, precise movements—training.
Sweat glistened on Yunho's skin as he threw a punch, followed by a sharp pivot and a kick. His breathing was steady, controlled, but there was an intensity in his eyes that made it clear he had been at this for a while. Wooyoung stepped inside, closing the door behind him without a word.
"You're still up?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.Yunho didn't stop, his focus unwavering.
"Couldn't sleep," he said between movements, his tone calm but determined.
"Figured I might as well use the time."Wooyoung leaned against the wall, watching him.
"You're gonna burn yourself out at this rate."Yunho paused, wiping his brow before turning to face Wooyoung. "Better than letting my thoughts keep me up all night." There was a hint of something more behind his words, something Wooyoung couldn't quite place.
"Yeah, well, you're not alone in that," Wooyoung said, crossing his arms.
"Still, maybe take a break? We can talk instead."Yunho smiled slightly, nodding as he grabbed a towel.
"Alright," he said, sitting down on the floor. "What's on your mind?"
Yunho, now seated on the floor, leaned back slightly, his breathing still steadying from the intensity of his training. He looked up at Wooyoung with a thoughtful expression. "So," he started, wiping his face with the towel,
"who exactly was in favor of my redemption? Who believed I was worth bringing back?"
Wooyoung couldn't help but chuckle at the question, shaking his head as he took a seat beside him. "Well," he began, still grinning,
"Seonghwa was the first to speak up. You know how he is—always the voice of reason, always has hope in people." He gave Yunho a playful nudge. "No surprise there."
Yunho nodded, not surprised by Seonghwa's unwavering loyalty."Then there's Jongho,"
Wooyoung continued, leaning back on his hands. "He didn't say much, but you know how he is. His actions always speak louder than his words. He was pretty clear that he trusted you, that you could be redeemed."
Yunho raised an eyebrow at that. "Jongho, huh? I'm glad""Exactly." Wooyoung smirked. "And Yeosang—well, he followed Jongho. No shock there. If Jongho was in, Yeosang was gonna back him up."
Yunho laughed softly, amused by that dynamic. "So, they really teamed up on that one?""Pretty much," Wooyoung shrugged. "Jongho gives the nod, and Yeosang's like, 'Yeah, that works.'"
