"strike first"

♡♡♡

Catalina was in her best attempt at a workout outfit, meaning one of Miguel's old shirts and a pair of black biker shorts. She stood in the dojo next to her brother while Mr.Lawrence walked in front of the two in his karate clothes.

"So are we going to get the karate pajamas too?" Miguel asked.

"Oh yeah, I'm really digging the sleeveless look yours have.." Cat said before being interrupted. "Quiet." Their sensei shouted, making both students jump a little. "Ok," they both said and straightened out.

"The student only speaks when spoken to. Understood?"

"Yes." "Yeah sorry."

Their sensei gave them a look at their response, making Cat confused.

"Yes...Sir" Miguel tried, which was not the answer Johnny was looking for.

"Always address me as "sensei." Is that understood?""

"Oh, yes, Sensei" the twins spoke in unison.

"These aren't pajamas. This is a gi. And you'll get one when you've earned it. " They both nodded in understanding. "Alright are you both ready for your training?"

"Yes Sensei" They said, and next thing Cat knew Sensei Lawrence hit miguel in the stomach and flipped him on the floor, before the girl could react the man swept the girls leg making her fall to the ground next to her brother. Both Diaz's groaned in pain. "My poor back," said Cat as she laid on the floor in pain.

"First lesson.Strike first." Their sensei said as he stood up staring down at his two students. Miguel getting up first, "You could have gave a warning," he said.

"Quiet." This made Catalina finally regain the strength to get up to, holding her back as she did.

"We do not train to be merciful in here. Mercy is for the weak." Sensei said as Miguel pulled out his inhaler. "Here on the street, in competition, a man confronts you, he is the enemy. An enemy deserves no mercy. What is the problem, Mr. Diaz?"

"There's no problem sensei. You.. You punched me and I have asthma, so..." Miguel said out of breath, sensei snatched the inhaler out of her brother's hand and threw it against the wall making it shatter.

"Hey, you better be paying him for that," Catalina shouted at the man, who just gave her a glare.

"Not anymore. We do not allow weakness in this dojo. So you can leave your asthma and your peanut allergies and all that other made-up bullshit outside. Understood?" Cat decided now is not the best time to admit to her peanut allergy so she just nodded her head.
