"mercy"

Catalina stood in front of the All Valley Sports Arena with the rest of her dojo as they all waited for their sensei to arrive. The girl in-between Eli and Aisha, as the group watched her brother punch the air violently.

"Yo, Miguel, calm down, man. Save some for the tournament," Eli said just receiving a glare from Miguel as he went back to punching.

"Hey, don't even bother. He's been super aggro ever since the breakup," Aisha told Eli, Cat nodded in agreement.

"Where's sensei? The tournament's gonna start soon," Eli asked.

"He'll be here," Cat said without a doubt.

"I don't know about that," Bert said, making the group look at him.

"What are you talking about?" Aisha asked.

"I saw him last night at the mini-mall. I was buying a... carton of milk," Bert said and Cat raised her eyebrow at him not at all believing him, but the boy continued, "when I heard in the parking lot, yelling," Bert said as he explained how he saw their sensei drunk.

"Why didn't you tell us earlier?" Cat asked, Eli and Aisha stood next to her both confused and worried.

"I don't know, I guess I'm just used to seeing him drunk, it didn't seem like that big of a deal," bert defended himself.

"Well we're here, and he's not. So it's officially a big deal," Eli said, "Yeah, what if something happened to him?" Cat added.

"Like what?" Bert asked

"I don't know, like he drove his car off a cliff, or brought a gun and blew his brains out," Eli said.

"OK, I was thinking more like he got hurt while being drunk but..." Cat said as she looked at her boyfriend.

"And sensei would never kill himself. That's too pussy a move," Aisha said.

"What?" Cat muttered at Aisha's work looking at the girl weirdly, Aisha just shrugged.

"Whatever. I mean, we're here. We're gonna have to do it without him," Eli said and before Cat could protest there was a voice behind them.

"Do what without me?" and as the group looked they saw their sensei walking over to them.

"We didn't think you were gonna show up," Eli said.

"I may not always win, but I never back out of a fight," their sensei responded.

"Let's sign up," Miguel said as he was finally done fighting the air. "Not yet," sensei said. Everyone looking around confused.

"There's one more lesson i have to teach you," and with that the dojo finally walked inside. They made it to the lobby where sensei told them to circle up.
