Once Rowan and Demi got to her place. Rowan immediately feels a sense of safely seeing their familiar surroundings. Demi glances over at Rowan and gives them a smile as she parks in her driveway, she was feeling relieved that Rowan seemed a bit more relaxed now that they were at her place. Once the car is parked, she shuts off the engine and turns to you, "Ready to head inside?" Rowan takes one last look at the house and then looks back at Demi, "Yes I am ready."

Demi nods and unbuckles her seatbelt. She then gets out of the car and walks over to the passenger side, opening the door for them. Once they are out, she leads the way towards the front door. "Come on, let's get you inside, it's late and you need to get some rest." Rowan quietly agrees and goes inside the house,

Demi follows behind them and locks the door once you are both inside. She flicks on the lights and leads you towards the living room. "Make yourself comfortable. I'm going to get you something to drink, alright?"

Rowan nods their head and goes and sits on the couch. Demi heads towards the kitchen while Rowan is sitting on the couch.

The sound of Rowan's phone ringing snaps them out of their thoughts, fear flooded through their veins as they realized it was an unknown caller. They pick up the phone, "Hello?" There was a chilling silence on the other line. They could hear heaving breathing and the sound of footsteps, but the person doesn't speak for several long seconds. Just as Rowan was about to hang up a soft voice speaks on the other line. "Hello, Rowan."

"Who is this?" they whispered on the phone, careful that Demi, does not hear, who was still in the kitchen. The voice on the other end of the line chuckles softly, their tone filled with amusement. They take their time responding, as if they were enjoying this little game.

"Oh, you don't recognize my voice, darling? That hurts my feelings."

"Who is this?" they ask again still whispering, the voice on the other line chuckles again, the sound sending a chill down Rowan's spine.

"Oh, you're trying to keep your voice down? Don't want your little friend in the other room hearing you, hmmm? How cute."

"You leave her alone, you understand?" they whispered and yelled into the phone. The voice lets out a scoff, their tone becoming more sinister.

"Oh, protective of her now, are we? How precious, but my darling, what makes you think you have any authority to give me orders?" That response sent chills down Rowan's spine, and they thought for a second before responding,

"I am not yours and you will tell me who you are." They demanded.

The voice seemed amused by the sudden burst of courage, but they also sounded mildly annoyed. "And why should I tell you who I am? What makes you think you deserve to know, darling? You are mine. You're playing a dangerous game, you know."

"You leave my friend, and I alone and never call this number again." Rowan says and hangs up the phone quickly, they could hear the voice say something before they hung up, but Rowan cut them off. The line went dead, and they were left in the living room, heart racing. They looked around before they realized that Demi had been gone for quite some time, so they stood up to go to the kitchen. Heart still racing.

When they walked to the kitchen, they found Demi standing there at the counter with two glasses of water in front of her. She turns and looks at Rowan with concern on her face, "Hey, you, okay? Everything alright?" "What took you so long?" Demi turns and looks at them with confusion on her face. She let out a soft huff and crossed her arms, "What do you mean? I wasn't gone that long." She then glances at the phone in their hand "Why were you on the phone just now?" "I need to change my number, and I need to change it now." Rowan demanded. Demi looked slightly surprised by their sudden demand, but her expression quickly turned to concern. "Whoa, slow down. What happened? Who called you?" "Demi, I need to change it now," Rowan panics not answering her questions

Demi's eyes widen at Rowan's panic expression, and she quickly takes their hand in hers, holding onto it tightly. "Hey look at me. Deep breaths, in and out. Good, take a few deep breaths, and then tell me what's going on, okay?" Rowan takes a few deep breaths before opening their eyes again and telling Demi what happened.

Demi's eyes widened in concern as they explained what happened with the phone call. Her grip on their hands tightens as she listens.

"Holy. Okay, yeah, we're getting you a new number first thing in the morning, no arguments. You can't risk getting any more calls like that, this person is clearly not right in the head."

Rowan frantically nods their head in response to Demi's words. She squeezes their hands again, her expression serious. She looks them in the eyes and speaks firmly "Alright, I need you to listen to me, okay? No more answering phone calls from numbers you don't recognize, got it? And definitely don't take any more calls from that number again. We'll get you a new phone in the morning. For now, you're safe here with me. No one's going to hurt you, I promise."

They nod and quickly hug Demi, wrapping their arms around her, "Thank you Demi." She hugs them back, holding them tightly against her and rubbing their back soothingly. "No need to thank me, I'm here for you. Nothing's going to happen to you while you're with me, okay? You're safe here."

The word safe echoes into Rowan's mind and she sighs of relief into the hug. Demi holds them close, feeling the tension in their body start to ease as they relax against her. She gently runs her fingers through their hair, her touch gentle and comforting. "Just take a deep breath and relax, alright? You're safe here with me. I'm not going to let anything happen to you."

"You're the best Demi, I don't know what I would have done without you." Rowan says, pulling away from the hug.

Demi smiles warmly at their words, a look of affection in her eyes. She reaches up and brushes a strand of hair out of their face, her touch gentle and tender. "Oh, you don't give yourself enough credit. You're strong and you would have figured something out eventually. I'm just glad I can be here for you right now."

Rowan yawns and takes a sip of water, causing Demi to smile softly. "Looks like someone's tired. Come on, let's get you settled and into bed. I'm sure you could use some rest after everything that's happened tonight."

They walk down the hall, and Demi opens the door to the spare bedroom and reveals a cozy yet spacious guest bedroom. The walls are painted a soothing shade of blue, and the bed is covered in a soft, fluffy comforter and pillows. Across the bedroom is a dresser and a full-length mirror, and there is a nightstand beside the bed, complete with a lamp and a small basket of essential items in case of an overnight guest. Overall, the room gives off a comfortable and living vibe, a perfect space for rest and relaxation. Rowan walks into the room, they walk over to the bed and lay on it. The moment Rowan lays down on the bed, they feel the soft, comfortable blanket and pillow, enveloping them in a cozy embrace. The bed is soft and supportive, and they feel themself slowly start to relax into the mattress. Rowan slowly falls asleep.

Demi watches as Rowan walks into the guest room and crawls into the bed. She stands at the doorway for a moment, a gentle smile on her face. She leans against the doorframe, her arms crossed as she looks at them. She watches as they settle into the bed and start to drift off to sleep. Once she sees that they're sound asleep, she quietly shuts the door, leaving the room slightly open in case they need her during the night.
