Later that night Rowan was laying in Demi's guest room when her phone started to ring. Demi also was in her room, reading a book on the bed. She jolts awake as she hears the sound of Rowan's phone ringing in the guest room. She sits up in the bed, listening closely, wondering if it's another call from the stalker.

"Hello, love, miss me?"

After Demi heard that familiar chilling voice she jumps out of her bed and runs to the guest bedroom, listening intently for any signs of trouble.

"No, no, no." Rowan muttered confused on how they got their new number.

The person laughs coldly, their voice holding a hint of mockery,

"Oh, come on now, is that anyway to talk to me? After all, I've been thinking about you nonstop all day."

"How did you get this number?"

The person laughs again, their voice dripping with mockery.

"Oh, did you think changing your number would keep me away, darling? I have my ways of finding you, no matter where you try to hide."

"Why are you doing this?"

The person on the phone lets out a mocking laugh, enjoying Rowan's confusion and frustration.

"Why? Why do I torment you so? Oh, my dear, it's because you're just so much fun to toy with. Your fear, your uncertainty... It brings me such joy. You're like a helpless little mouse, and I'm the cat who just can't resist playing with its food."

Demi, still standing outside the door, decides she is going to lock the door from the outside. Securing Rowan inside the room. Meanwhile the person on the phone continues to talk, their voice growing more menacing.

"Is someone with you? Have you found someone to play hero for you? How sweet. But don't worry. They won't be able to protect you from me."

Rowan walks to the door and panic sets in as they realize the door is locked, they tug on the handle, but it doesn't budge. They heard a faint chuckle from the stalker on the other end of the line.

"Ah, I see you've discovered the predicament you're in. How does it feel, love? Trapped, helpless... Right where I want you to be."

"Don't you dare touch Demi."

The person on the phone laughs coldly, their tone menacing.

"Oh, how sweet. You're worried about your little hero, are you? How touching. Well, let me assure you, I have no intention of hurting her. Not yet anyway. I want to make you suffer first... And I'm going to enjoy every second of it."

"Demi!" Rowan screams out her name, hoping she is okay.

Demi stands outside the door, listening intently, she can hear the panicked tone of their voice as they call out her name. "Rowan, what's wrong?" Why did you lock the door? Open up, I can't help you if you don't let me in."

Demi's eyes widen in alarm as she hears the frantic words. She quickly tries the door handle, finding it locked solidly. "What? How did this happen? Hang on, I'll go get something to get you out, okay?"

Demi rushes off to find something to help pry open the door, all while shouting assurances to them through the door. "I'll be right back, just hold on! I'm going to get you out of there as quickly as I can!"

Meanwhile, the person on the phone continues to speak, their tone filled with menace.

"Ah, looks like your precious guardian is trying to come to your rescue. How adorable."

That's when Rowan realized something, they remember seeing Demi outside their door before it was locked. The color on their face drained.

As the realization hit them like a ton of bricks, their faces paled. Could it be possible that Demi was the one behind this all along? The person on the phone seems to sense their growing horror

"What's wrong, love? You've gone awfully quiet all of a sudden. Could it be that you've finally figured out who's been tormenting you all this time?"

Rowan felt sick. "No, she is my best friend."

The person on the phone lets out a mocking laugh, clearly enjoying their state of disbelief.

"Oh, how naive you are, darling. Did you really think she was your friend? That she cared about you? You poor, deluded fool. She's been playing you from the very beginning. You're just a pawn in her sick little game."

"That's not true she will be here any minute and open the door" but in reality, Rowan knew it wasn't true.

The person on the phone chuckles darkly, their tone dripping with mockery. "Oh, you still have faith in her, do you? How adorable. But deep down, you know the truth. She's never going to save you. She's the one who locked you in there, after all. And she's not coming to let you out anytime soon...'
