The days in solitary confinement room seem to blur together, making it hard to keep track of time. Without any windows, natural light, or any indication of passage of time, Rowan finds themselves losing count of the days that have gone by. The monotony and routine of their daily life in captivity further contribute to their confusion, making it increasingly difficult to tell how long they have been trapped in there.

As Rowan lays on the floor, wrapped in a blanket, their ears pick up the sound of their phone ringing from across the room. The ringing pierces through the quiet of the room, breaking the monotony of silence. Rowan pushes themselves up and groggily makes their way to the phone, their heart sinking as they see "Unknown" flashing on the screen.

For a moment, there's a tense silence on the other end of the line, then the cold familiar voice speaks.

"Ah, finally decided to answer the phone, I see. Though you're rather quiet today, aren't you, love? Nothing to say to me?"

"You broke your promise." Rowan mutters

The voice on the phone lets out an exasperated sigh.

"Ah, so you're still upset about that. I suppose I did promise to come and visit, and I didn't follow through. But you have to understand, darling, sometimes we don't always keep our promises. It's not the end of the world, is it?"

Rowan doesn't answer, the person on the other line lets out another sigh, their tone growing slightly irritated.

"Oh, come on now, don't give me the silent treatment. Isn't it a bit childish, darling? You can't be upset with me forever, can you? I'm sure you're just lovely and need some company, and I'm the only one you've got, so you should really appreciate me more."

Rowan continues to give Demi the silent treatment.

The person on the phone scoffs at their silent treatment

"There's that attitude again. You really do like to push my buttons, don't you? But I suppose I can't expect you to be overly grateful, given the circumstances. Still, you could at least show a little appreciation for the fact that I'm the only one who's bothering to talk to you in there."

"Please Demi, I'm so tired of this."

The person on the phone is taken back by the sound of their broken voice, a hint of compassion appearing in their usually cold tone.

"Oh. love. You really are in a pitiful state, aren't you? You sound so tired and broken. You want me to let you go, hmm? But you know I can't do that. You're mine, and I'm not done with you yet."

"Can you at least let me out of this room? I will stay and I promise I won't escape." Rowan was broken and lost all hope.

The person on the phone is silent for a moment, considering their plea. They could practically hear them weighting their words, contemplating their promise never to escape. Finally, they responded, their tone somewhat softened.

"Hmm, letting you out of the room, eh? You're willing to stay and promise not to run? I suppose I could entertain the idea, but mark my words, I will be watching you very closely, darling. One wrong move, one hint of disobeying me, and you're right back in that room. Do we have understanding, love?"

A little hope sparked in Rowan's chest "Do you actually mean that? You will actually let me out of this room?"

The person on the phone sighs softly, their tone somewhat impatient.

"Yes, I actually mean it, darling. I will let you out of the room on the condition that you stay and promise not to try and escape. But remember, I'll be watching you like a hawk, love. Don't even think about trying to run, or you're going right back in there, understood?"

"I won't I promise" Rowan was feeling a little more hopeful.

"Ah, I see that little spark of hope, love. You're finally showing a bit of enthusiasm. But be warned, I'm a woman of my word, and I will not hesitate to put you right back in that room if you even think about breaking your promise. Can I trust you, darling?"

"Yes, you can trust me."

"We'll see about that, love. But for now, I'll take your word for it. You'll be allowed to leave the room and move about the house but remember. I'll be watching you very closely. One step out of line, one hint of disobedience, and you're going right back in there. Understood, darling?"

"I won't disobey, I promise."

The voice on the phone softens slightly at their voice

"Good. That's what I like to hear. I want you to keep your promise to me, darling. It would be a real shame to have to put you back in that room, wouldn't it? Now, get yourself together, I'm coming to let you out in a few minutes.
