The morning sun streamed in through the curtains, casting a soft, warm light onto the room. Demi quietly opens the door, peeking into the room to check on them. She can see that they are still asleep, lying peacefully in bed.

As Demi enters the room, she sees that Rowan is starting to wake up, she walks over to the bed and sits down on the edge, giving them a soft smile. "Morning, sleepyhead."

Rowan rolls around to face Demi, rubbing their eyes. " Good morning, Demi."

Demi chuckles softly at their sleepy demeanor. She reaches over and gently pats their head. Her touch is gentle and affectionate. "How did you sleep? You were out like a light all night."

"I slept amazing. Thank you for letting me stay the night." Rowan smiles

Demi smiles warmly back, her eyes filled with affection. "Of course, it was no problem at all. You know you're always welcome to stay as long as you need to. I want to make sure you're safe, especially with everything that's going on right now."

"Can you take me to my apartment so I can grab my suitcase? As well as a new phone?

Demi nods, understanding the need for them to grab their essentials. "Yeah, I can take you back to your place. We'll grab your stuff and head to the phone store to get you a new number. I'm not leaving your side though, okay?"

Rowan grabs Demi's hand "I wouldn't want you to leave my side." Demi smiles at their response, her eyes sparkling with affection. She gives their hand a gentle squeeze, her touch warm and reassuring. "Good. You're not getting rid of me that easily, I'm staying right by your side until we get all of this sorted out."

As they arrive at Rowan's apartment, Demi keeps a vigilant eye on their surroundings, making sure everything looks safe. She stays close to you, her presence a constant reassurance. Once they're inside the apartment, she looks around, making sure the coast is clear.

"Alright, grab whatever you need, we'll be in and out as quickly as possible." Rowan nods their head and goes to their already packed suitcase. They see the broken glass from where the intruder tried to break in, memories come flooding back in as they stand there staring at where the kitchen window was.

Demi notices their reaction to the broken window and the memories it triggers. She walks over to Rowan, gently places a hand on their shoulder. "Hey, it's okay, You're safe now, I'm here. Just grab your stuff and we'll get out of here, okay?"

Once again Rowan nods their head and grabs their suitcase and heads out the door. Demi keeps a protective arm around them as they leave the apartment, her presence a steady comfort. As they walk back towards the car, she keeps a watchful eye on their surroundings, making sure there is no sign of anything suspicious. Once they're back in the car, she looks at Rowan, her gaze filled with concern. "Are you alright?'

"I'll be better with a new number so that freak can't call me anymore." Rowan says running a hand through their hair.

Demi nods, her expression serious. "Don't worry, we're going to get you set up with a new number, okay? And we're going to figure out who's doing all this and put a stop to it. You're safe with me, I promise. We'll fix this together."

They grab Demi's hand and squeeze it, "Thank you, truly, I really appreciate you."

Demi smiles softly as they squeeze her hand, her heart skipping a beat at their touch. She returns the squeeze, her grip gentle but firm. "You don't have to thank me. I'm doing this because you're my friend and I care about you. You mean a lot to me, you know that, right?"

Rowan smiles and they continue the drive to the phone store in comfortable silence.
