(I am alive!!!-Kai)

Dina's POV:
My legs ached as I ran out of camp, sprinting as fast as my legs could take me away from this death trap the others call camp and to the portal I knew was there and very much still active. The portal to Mercury, to Seth. I could feel my heart trying to burst out of my chest with every step I took, beating so fast that for a second I thought I was actually dying, that my heart was giving out on me now of all times. (I wasn't though, If the blood still flowing through my veins told me anything.) Though after about half an hour or so I had arrived at the spot Dad had told me so much about, that and the mountain of regret he held for not going back when he still could. Those were conversations that had happened far too often, his disappointed voice hitting both of our ears even if the words weren't meant for us, or anyone at all for that matter.

The wind was blowing my hair into my face, just barely blocking the portal from my eyes, so with a huff I reached my right hand up to hold my hair out of the way and that is when I finally saw the thing I only pictured through stories. It was a fairly small portal with blacks, oranges, and reds swirling around in what I could only assume was meant to be a sort of trance inducing spiral, as if trying to drag you into somewhere you know you shouldn't go. I laughed slightly at the thought, as if anyone would go looking for this without having the intent to go in. But even in the small bits of humor I manage to find it does nothing to stop the now very evident tremor in both of my hands, forcing me to ball them up into fists in a crappy attempt to rid me of my nerves. It didn't work, but I couldn't dwell on that, not right now at least, not with everything that's happening back at camp. A shiver runs down the back of my spine at the sudden and sharp reminder 'No! I can't think about that right now! I need to focus on this first, and when I'm done with this, then I can work on fixing the rest.' I internally scold myself, shaking my head violently to try to force those dumb, childish thoughts out of my head.

I took a short moment to recenter myself, slowly breathing in and out just like I had been told how to time and time before
..'Just like that Dina, in for 4... hold for 4.. That's it, and now out for eight. You're doing good Dina..'..,
closing my eyes, shaking out my hands and straightening out my kimono before finally stepping in. 'Here we go.'

3rd Person POV:
The first thing that processed in her mind after she had stepped into the portal was the almost fuzzy warmth that now completely surrounded her entire being. It almost felt like when she would sit in the fireplace back in the mess hall or lay back in the lava bath dad had situated in one of the corners of his room back at camp. Though this time it was more...all encompassing in a way, she couldn't quite place her finger on it. Oh well, it didn't really matter, what did matter was finding her grandpa and getting him to help her stop the destruction of this timelines camp, the place that could have been her home. If her mother hadn't decided to only protect herself and her family instead of the people she had sworn that she loved and would protect.

She takes a step forward, stumbling a bit before getting her footing. She let out a long sigh before looking up at the terrain in front of and around her. Now, time to find Seth. She had been fairly confident throughout the entire way over here, but now that she was actually on mercury she suddenly realized that she didn't know nearly enough about where things were on the planet she now stood on. 'Crap. WELP! Guess I'm just gonna have to figure this out myself,' she commented internally, before her eyes suddenly lit up with an idea. 'You know what that means...' her lips turned upwards to make a big goofy grin. "IT'S ROLLING TIME!!!!" She shouts, ecstatic, curling up into a ball and speeding through the hilly, uneven terrain just like Sonic.

... Though the short-haired demigod had apparently forgotten that she was fire resistant, leading to a moment that she would vehemently deny ever happened. "AHHH!!-" she shouted in panic as she waited to feel the pain of her skin being on fire..before her mind kindly reminded her of who her father was. She muttered a soft "Oh..Uhhhh..." before pulling herself out of the lava lake and back onto what she could only hope was a path to the castle her grandfather was held in..

End of Chap.

(I don't care that this reference doesn't really make sense, but I can totally see Dina comparing herself to sonic when she does her whole rolling bit lol. ALSO, I am so sorry I have been so inconsistent and just like disappeared on y'all. But I am back in school and have the motivation to write for this again!!! So YIPPEE!- Kai).
