The cool breeze of Mumbai's night air swept through the balcony of their apartment, carrying with it the scent of the ocean. Aarohi stood by the railing, her hair flowing with the wind as she gazed at the moonlit sea. It had been a long day at the hospital, but now, standing here, she felt a rare sense of calm wash over her.

From behind, she felt a pair of familiar arms wrap around her waist, pulling her close. "You're lost in thought again," Rishi whispered, his lips grazing the top of her head.

Aarohi smiled, leaning back into his embrace. "I was just thinking about how far we've come," she murmured. "Everything feels surreal sometimes."

Rishi chuckled softly. "Surreal? I think it feels perfect." He turned her gently to face him, his eyes locking onto hers, the city lights reflecting in his gaze.

For a moment, neither of them spoke. The world around them faded away, and it was just the two of them standing under the stars. Aarohi's heart raced in her chest, and she knew that even though they often joked and teased each other, there was a depth to their relationship that neither of them could ignore.

Rishi brushed a strand of hair away from her face, his touch sending a shiver down her spine. "You're thinking too much again," he teased, his voice soft.

Aarohi laughed, shaking her head. "Maybe I am."

Without another word, Rishi took her hand and led her inside, where the dining table was beautifully set with candles flickering and soft music playing in the background. Aarohi's eyes widened in surprise.

"You did all this?" she asked, her voice filled with wonder.

Rishi shrugged, his signature grin appearing. "I figured we both needed a break from work. Plus, you deserve something special." He pulled out a chair for her, and Aarohi sat down, still taking in the romantic setup.

They spent the evening sharing stories, laughing, and teasing each other over a delicious dinner that Rishi had ordered from one of Aarohi's favorite restaurants. It was the kind of evening where time seemed to slow down, allowing them to savor every moment.

As the night wore on, the conversation shifted from lighthearted to more personal. Rishi leaned forward, his hand reaching across the table to take hers. "I've never told you this, but there's something about you, Aarohi. Something that makes me feel... grounded."

Aarohi raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips. "Grounded? That's a new one."

"I'm serious," Rishi continued, his tone softer now. "You challenge me in ways I never thought possible. You drive me crazy, and yet, I can't imagine my life without you in it."

Aarohi's teasing smile faded, her expression softening as she looked into his eyes. "I feel the same way, Rishi. It's like... no matter how much we bicker or annoy each other, you're the one constant in my life. You make me feel safe."

Rishi smiled, his thumb gently caressing the back of her hand. "Then I guess we're stuck with each other," he said, his voice laced with affection.

Standing up, Rishi walked over to her and pulled her to her feet, guiding her into a slow dance in the middle of their living room. There was no music now—just the sound of the city in the background and the rhythmic beat of their hearts.

They swayed together, lost in the moment, as the moonlight streamed through the windows, casting a soft glow around them. Aarohi rested her head on Rishi's shoulder, feeling the steady rise and fall of his chest as they moved in sync.

"I never thought I'd have this," Aarohi whispered, her voice barely audible.

"Have what?" Rishi asked, pulling back slightly to look at her.

"Peace," Aarohi said, meeting his gaze. "With you, I feel like I can finally breathe. Like all the chaos, all the pain... it doesn't matter when I'm with you."

Rishi's eyes softened, and he leaned in, brushing his lips gently against hers. The kiss was slow, tender—filled with all the unspoken emotions that had built between them over the years. It was a kiss that spoke of promises, of a future they were building together.

When they finally pulled apart, Rishi rested his forehead against hers, his voice a mere whisper. "I'm not going anywhere, Aarohi. No matter what happens, we'll face it together."

Aarohi closed her eyes, letting his words sink in. In that moment, she knew that whatever challenges lay ahead—whether at work, with family, or in life—they could handle it. Together.

They spent the rest of the night wrapped in each other's arms, the weight of the world falling away as they held onto the only thing that mattered—their love for each other. And as the stars sparkled above, Aarohi realized that for the first time in her life, she wasn't afraid of the future. She was ready to embrace it, with Rishi by her side.
